I got into a huge debate with my roommate who is a patriot fan. He said it was the biggest mistake to throw that money at JimmyG and we should have franchised him to get another year of evaluation. One of my main arguments is that if JimmyG keeps performing at a high level, which he will, we will have to pay him even more money to up the QBs who will get new contracts within 2018. Cousins upped JimmyG and now Matt Ryan upped it even more. Chances are Rodgers is going to up it again. Then you have Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Prescott, Mariota, and Winston who are going to be free agents in 2020 and could get extended right after the 2018 season
With Matt Ryan at $30M avg, we already are saving $3-4M per year. No telling how far up Rodgers is going to go
Lynch played it right

Worth it? Overpaid?
I believe the Jimmy deal will look like a bargain in 2 years when you see QB's in the mid 30's mark.
With Ryan set at 30, does Rodgers get 31?

Of course its overpaid but that's the market and he's more proven than 5 game jimmy. The nfl needs to correct the amount of cap percentage the QBs are getting.

Just like Russell Wilson looks underpaid now with 2 years left on his deal. Many thought he was overpaid when he got said deal done which was the going rate at that time.
The QB market is a crazy market and you gotta pay if you want a FQB.
