It's really up to Laken, on whether he wants to re-sign or hit the open market, if not signed, they'll have a $1,204,059 dead money hit for 2022, the reason for voiding is due to the 2020 restructure we had to do, they added enough void years to spread the bonus over 5yrs to get max savings.

Bank played LG at Notre Dame. Hopefully with one season under his belt he can start. I LOVE Laken but my prediction is they will let him walk. Bad move. The pick isn't worth letting a good guard go. In the same way there aren't 32 starting quality QBs in the NFL, there aren't 64 starting quality guards.

Either Laken wants to test free agency or Paraag is trying to figure out the structure of deals for extensions and restructurings on MULTIPLE guys.

Laken is a good guard but Shanahan just doesn't value the guard position enough to shell out 10+ million for him.

We used a 2nd round pick on Banks with the intention of replacing Tomlinson. Give him a full training camp and he will be good to go.

For comparison, Sportrac calculates FA market value based on 4 similar players. They list the following market value for guards in similar ranking:

Connor Williams - PFF ranking #11 (2 above LT) at $13.7M APY.
Alex Cappa - #18 (5 below LT) at $10.7M APY.
James Daniels - #19 at $7.3M APY
Austin Corbett - #22 at $8.7M APY.

Tomlinson was earning $5.5M this past season. So, we can assume it will cost at least $10M APY to resign him. Based on the comps listed, he is worth at least that much. He is in his prime and has been an iron man for the past two years.

LT was more than fine this yr and always plays. Nothing or complain about with him imo
