Is the NFL dying?

It's because there are a lack of compelling players. Peyton Manning is gone, and look at the most compelling players in recent years are. Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck.

Also, frankly the NFL does better when the 49ers are winning.
Supply and demand...there is simply too much football (Hell they already have a whole day devoted to the sport). I love my Sunday football and it's always a plus when your teams on MNF.

But now it seems to have flooded the market, Thursday night football needs to go IMO (and Saturday games when that happens). It's for the most part poorly played while players are still recovering from last week.

I also think we don't need to be going to Europe and china (reportedly).

Also like everyone said it seems like the players vs the owners which is annoying.
The product has been bad this year. College Football, MLB Playoffs, and this little bit of NBA are all currently more entertaining than the NFL. Then you got other factors to add in as well. That Thursday night game is overkill. Should've left that night to college football

This both sides are constantly bickering. Other leagues are enjoying the cash and proceeding in harmony.

Yup and other leagues are actually paying their players (full guarantees) I know that's somewhat impossible given the nature of the game, but in no way should someone like Giancarlo Stanton get $325 million in guarantees while Aaron Rogers get's $54 million in guarantees

The way the owners bicker with the players along with the huge difference in money, well I'd rather my kid play baseball or basketball if it came down to it lol.

Exactly no job better in sports in terms of longevity and salary than being left handed pitcher.

Reasons why NFL is declining.

  • The Rules, too many penalties, can't celebrate TDs
  • Too many commercials, TD commercial, kick off commercial
  • No more hard hits
  • Boring offenses
  • and niners suck big rhinoceros cocks

This
The No Fun League
People are going to tune into sports that are fun and entertaining.
Mark Cuban picked it, he said pigs get slaughtered, the NFL has gotten too big too fast, and the inevitable ratings slide will continue.

1. Too many games, Thursday night, 6:30 am Sundays in Europe, Sunday night games, Monday night games. So there is way to many solo prime time games a week, with not enough quality match ups.
2. Like it or not, the protests do have a negative effect. We watch entertainers to escape reality, do we really want to see some overpayed actors, actreeses and athletes make a stand??
3. NFL tickets are just too expensive, on NFL network they are saying the NFL could die in the future because they are not having any young kids attend the games. Who can afford to send a 7 year old to a game, and who wants to with all of the beligerant fans.
4. Fining a player for flexing his muscles after a TD ensure the No Fun League.
5. I miss Jacked up, on espn when they would show the 10 biggest hits of the week.
6. I think NFL rewind and the internet makes us watch less of the games, give me the summary and I am done with it.
7. Lack of quality quarterbacking.

Yes, I don't like the Thursday game.
This can all be fixed when the government makes sports betting legal in all states, this includes daily fantasy.
Don't know about the NFLs death but it's killing me this year

The NFL has totally lost some of the mojo it once had.

As for the commercials, I say away with some of these commercials in favor of PI reviews. That game Julio was mugged which could have changed the outcome of the game was outrageous. Then when the Hawks lose they cry that they were being held on plays. I think being able to review PI calls would change alot of the outcome of these games just like TD reviews.

I agree. With anything in life, if there's too much of it it's no longer as special to you. You add in the fact that less children are playing due to the perceived concussion issue causing less family involvement coupled with the cost of attendance and its bound to decline a little.
