Mahomes and Darnold as well. Maybe we're entering the Sandlot era.

I mean these guys aren't typical gimmick players. Mayfield is deadly accurate. His ball placement reminds me of Brees the year that Rivers was drafted and he really started balling out.
Jackson is more the stereotypical running QB but I think his passing ability exceeeds that of guys like Kaepernick and Vick as rookies. The sky is really the limit for how good he can be if he puts the work in.

QB Rating first 3 starts: 70, 58, 74
QB Rating most recent 3 starts: 100, 91, 101
The guy might not be articulate, but he has a football brain like a sponge.
He's basically already producing as a passer what Flacco did, and adds the running element. Keep in mind the Baltimore Ravens WR group is bottom of the barrel. John Brown and an old Crabtree.

Based on what though? He's out there leading his team to wins. He made some great throws against a good Chargers defense too so he's not just doing it with his legs.
Honestly what has a guy like Rosen shown to put him above Lamar?
John Elway and Roger Staubach also.Originally posted by SunDevilNiner79:Originally posted by Kolohe:But I'm talking about in NFL history duhhhhh!!!
Steve Young, Russell Wilson
Jake the Snake and Tarkenton were pretty successful too. Can probably lump Favre into that category as well. There have been unconventional QBs that improvise on plays that were winners.
