LOL

Matt Stafford is not terrible.

Not terrible at all, but you have to admit that sometimes it seemed like half his completions were just throwing it up to Johnson even if he was covered.

Calvin Johnson is NOT a first ballot Hall of Famer. LOL

Depends on your standard for good. Based on how some people talk about quarterbacks on WZ, Matt Stafford is absolutely a good QB. I think he is slightly above average myself.

Yes. No doubt. It isaint the 90's anymore, and careers are only going to get shorter on the defensive side of the ball. First Ballot.

Guy is one of the top 5 WR's to ever play the game. LOL at the idea that he would be anything besides a first ballot selection.

I'm not saying he is or isn't a 1st ballot HoFer, but all the points made in that link are put in very fine detailed context to benefit him. In the first nine years this, in this 3 year stretch that. Just put his career numbers up next to all the other top receivers career numbers and let's see what they look like.

He's 27th in yards

He's 43rd in receptions

He's 22nd in receiving TDs

Came in here to post the same thing. To add to that, he has led the NFL in receiving yards 2x in his career. Led in touchdown receptions 1x. He was an incredible talent but he simply did not leave the mark on the NFL for long enough to be a sure fire first ballot hall of famer. I would be happy to readdress this in 5 years, but I have $100 on the line to anyone who wants to bet me that he doesnt make it in first ballot.

WR has a logjam of players waiting to get into the Hall of Fame. Players who had careers that produced MUCH more than Calvin has. Did you guys see how long it took Tim Brown to get into the Hall of Fame? Cris Carter? Think about that and then think about the fact that players like Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Marvin Harrison and Isaac Bruce will be eligible before him and they arent locks to be first ballot either. Those guys ALL had better careers than Calvin did.

I dont think its a stretch at all to say that Calvin wont be a first ballot HOFer. His number simply do not add up to other all time greats.

He's not first ballot, but he will be in the HOF at one point.

You also gotta acknowledge the fact that he played with some pretty bad QBs for most of his career, Harrington and Kitna, and still put up good numbers. And it's not like Stafford is anything special either.

I am not saying he wont be in the Hall of Fame. I think he gets in eventually. The conversation was first ballot (and some people even went as far as saying he was top 5 of all time LOL).

I just dont see how it is even remotely possible that he is a first ballot Hall of Famer, when WR is historically such a hard position to break into the Hall as.
Its tough to compete with Jerry Rice's production. But yeah I'd say Megatron is a top 5 WR of all time.

Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Megatron IMO are definitely the best 3 WRs I ever saw play. Those 3 are in their own category IMO.

THen there are the elites: TO, Tim Brown, Larry Fitzgerald, Chris Carter, Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Anquan Boldin, Michael Irvin, Steve Smith, Hines Ward, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Andre Reed, Steve Largent

I left out some older WRs simply because I never saw them play.

edit: And the up-and-coming WRs are Antonio Brown, AJ Green, Odell Beckham Jr. and Julio Jones. I'm sure they'll be among the top when they are done.

Just curious....in your opinion what makes Calvin Johnson better than Terrell Owens?
