As do most RBs...what you want him to do drop to the ground lol? I get it running out of bounds vs hitting someone, but most of his injuries have happened at or behind the line of scrimmage. Our OL/scheme need to make it so he's not constantly getting smashed as soon as he gets the ball.

Imo his last injury was a dirty play by Gaines that had nothing to do with how he runs.

I love that he's lost more weight which should help with elusiveness and speed. Throw in some solid COP backs I think he has his best season this yr.

hyde SEEKS head to head contact, that's the difference. Dude won't be around very long if he keeps that up.

And how many times has he be injuried because he "seeked" contact? His last injury had zero to do with that and his other real injury was a foot injury in week 7 vs Seattle (2015).

Does it look like he was seeking out anything? If he gets a lane, I got no problem with him "seeking" out contact. OL/scheme/QB need to protect him better imo.

lol I mean I get it he runs hard and does take on contact but his real injuries didn't have anything to do with his running style imo.

unless he's learned how not to take so many shots to the dome, dude won't make it past week 8.

take THAT to the bank.

Hard not to take shots when the OL lets the LB/DL blow past them lol. Constant 8+ men in the box because we haven't had s**t for a passing game and two of the most predictable offenses doesn't help either.

I think the fact that Hyde looks to truck defensive backs plays a role in how defensive backs hit him low (dirty). It's not that he should run out of bounds or willingly give up and fall down when he sees a safety come up to tackle him. A RB can get slippery and avoid the straight on hit. Gore did this a lot and rarely got hit square because he got lower than the DB and/or would aim for the side of the defender. This allowed him to take glancing blows, not square on collisions. Both methods result in falling forward.

When Hyde knows the safety has a good angle coming in for the tackle, Hyde will square up and truck the safety. And most often, Hyde wins because he's powerful and comes with good speed. So now the word is out that Hyde will truck and can do it well. Now safeties come in low when tackling him.

That's not even close to what you were talking about lol

You said nothing in regards of how safeties tackle Hyde because of how he runs.

Hyde has always looked great this time of year. It's week 4-7 of the regular season that the real Hyde starts to show....
New coaching, new scheme. More competition. We will see.

Hyde clearly stands out here, dealing with the toughest schedule of any running back with at least 100 carries. Playing in the NFC West put him at a significant disadvantage, considering Arizona ranked best in yards per carry allowed (3.30), Seattle ranked second-best (3.41), and the Los Angeles Rams ranked 12th (3.99). Games against these three teams accounted for 42.4 percent of his total carries. Hyde also stood out when we looked at his offensive line's yards-before-contact-per-attempt average (seventh-worst) and how well he performed when compared to his peers (fourth-best)
