SI_PeterKing: One victory for players no one's focusing on: They'll get 55% of all TV money throughout deal, which will be a goldmine starting in 2014.

I don't like how neither player rep can give specifics about what the owners agreed upon that was different. Both sides are positioning for fan support.
Unfortunately for the players, the owners displayed a desire to get the deal done and now gets the support of the fans. If this ends up dragging on, it will be much worse than prior to the owners voting.
Exactly, I felt the same way. The players keep on saying they changed s**t but I haven't heard any specifics about what they changed. That is why I think the players are full of s**t. They just don't like the fact the owners voted yes on the deal and put pressure on them to vote yes. They wanted to play power poker to get more.

I'm so sick of the power plays and posturing.

But every other report seems to debunking such, including the two goofballs (Bills/Jax player reps) interviewed on the NFLN.

All the players have to do is return the deal with a we will agree to the deal if...... is done and then list off the items. they will get some and lose on others. but a deal can be made. Of course they could not vote today because i would also like to get a 2nd opinion on the deal give me my copy and let me look over the weekend but come Monday ready to vote. Most of the players are going to vote however the union tell them anyway.

NFLPA leaders told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen a vote among its 32 player representatives appears likely Friday after the group received the "finishing points" of the agreement NFL owners approved Thursday. The NFLPA did not receive those details until after a two-hour conference call with player reps came to a conclusion without a vote Thursday night.
"All in all, despite the games that were played by the NFL, things look much more optimistic," a players' leadership source said.

Maybe, maybe not? I choose to remain optimistic. As far as I see it, the two sides have come too far and would lose too much to just blow it up now! I'm thinking that cooler heads will prevail and we should see a vote by the players within the next 24-48 hours. Just my opinion...

No, the Raiders just don't agree with the language of the deal and are even against portion of what was proposed by the league. No where did it state that they were on the players side.

No actually Al has always been a huge players owner. He loves his players just as long as they don't cross him. Even the biggest raiders hater knows Al is an owner that cares for his players. The raiders need money it does not benefit them by turning down a deal that would give them extra cash.
Al has had the most players choose him to induct them into the Hall of Fame. So in the end his love for his players and his hate for all things NFL really makes him the smartest man of the day. He didn't choose a side but by being the only one not to agree he stands out. Players and ex players have taken notice of this on twitter. So that could pay huge dividends for the raiders in the coming years because they know that owner has they're back. Even warren sapp has given Al props and Sapp has slammed the hell out of the raiders since he left. I don't like the man and I definitely don't like the team but I have to respect the man for what he does even at his old dying state. The NFL would not be what it is without him so I respect that.

So true. He may be losing his mind, he may look like he died 5 years ago, but the man loves football and he loves his Raiders. If we could take his passion and give it to the Yorks I definitely would.
This may be the nerd in me coming out but I compare him to Magneto from X-men.
