I hear that!

I literally laughed out loud.
How is it the players feel like the owners snuck this in, did it all of a sudden, or are showing disrespect etc when this vote was scheduled 3 weeks ago.

None of the players have said any of the terms are new or bad, but they are upset with the owners for doing this. But what did the owners do? They put all the negotiated terms together and voted to approve it (no one has mentioned any "new" terms). Of course, when dealing with a union approving an agreement first is a bad idea because the mentality by the union will be that 'if the man approves this agreement, it means they're ripping us off, or that at least we can get another concession or two.' (I have personal experience with union negotiating mentality on the union side)

The craziest part to me though, is what seems to be main unresolved issue, which is the issue of re-certifying the union. The Brady lawsuit and their claims of this move by the owners possibly being illegal deal with whether they should be forced to be in a union or whether there should be no union or an opt-in union (to avoid franchise tags and other rules). How do they figure it's reasonable to have a league of players that either isn't unionized or has an opt-in union. In my opinion, they probably don't think it's reasonable, but they use it as leverage (or a pwrplay as they call the owners vote) and want to use it for additional concessions.

That's where I feel like this currently lies. The players see that the owners have agreed to a deal which contains their mutually negotiated terms, but they feel like they still have the lawsuits & union certification issue which are expected to be dropped by the owners, while the players want to get an extra something because they feel like they have some leverage left over they can use to improve a deal that can't be good enough because the other side approved it.
