Will top flight pass rushers be available to rent though? Look at the fa class after Lawrence and Ansah get tagged.
Does Dallas have enough room to tag Lawrence/ sign draft class and fill out secondary though? I was thinking more of next year 2019/2020. There will be plenty of free agents/last year of their contract. A team like the Vikings will have to make decisions on defense and good guys will be traded/ let walk. Free Agency is huge this year though. We should have a chance to sign a starter or 2 at a position of need and there are multiple routes to go.
Just watched a couple of games on this dude. I'm baffled at the thought of many people putting this guy in their mock drafts. The dude is (stiff, too tall, slow, no lower body strength, unable to change direction) which equates to being trash.
What games were you looking at just curious. When I watched him A&M tape from last year as my first look I wasn't too impressed but he looks much better this year(granted not against elite level competition)

They're not letting the sack leader go to sign a overpriced fa corner. They'll just draft one. Lawrence will get tagged.
We can wait until 19/20 but next year could be rough.

This. There is no chance Dallas lets Lawrence go. They'll also free up cap space when they cut Dez Bryant who is massively overpaid right now and won't take a pay cut. They can afford to tag him and then trade him if they can't work out a longer term deal, because he'd be valuable to a lot of teams on a one year deal (more valuable if he's willing to sign there long term).

They have 2 promising rookie CBs. Witten is expandable. Lawrence wants to stay in Dallas and I know they want him there. He's more valuable then Dez if it really came down to numbers.
If we're talking about him at LEO, I think that's what we'll get.
Davenport is way more athletic than Armstead, has better length, and can bend. There's no way he runs a 5.10 40 or only has 33" arms at 6'7. He and Ferrel have similar athleticism, but Davenport looks like he has longer arms. Key and Landry are probably the ideal fits for us at LEO, but Davenport and Ferrell could play the position and would offer a little more against the run.

Ferrell is athletic and will be an effective pass rusher in the NFL.
Davenport has a bull rush, little else. I'm afraid he'll go to the Senior Bowl and get exposed for not being able to get around OTs. Either he plows through them or he gets stiffled. We'll see, but I'm not high on him. I am looking forward to seeing how it plays out though.

He's incredibly raw and it looked like he mainly relied on the bull rush in the Baylor game (1st game of the season), but he still flashed a lot of athleticism and got a lot of penetration despite facing occasion double teams. In games later on in the season, he showed the ability to win with speed off the edge and bend which combined with his length and bull rush is why he's now considered a first round prospect.
Watch 0:41, 2:44, 3:58, 4:46, and 4:54 (or his game highlights starting at 6:50). Armstead has never moved like that in his life. Davenport is rawer than Ferrell and doesn't do as good of a job shedding blockers after stunning them, but he's every bit as athletic, bends as well, and has a higher ceiling in my opinion because he has the same freakish length Aldon Smith has (or close to it) which allows him to maul offensive linemen who can't even get hands on his frame.
We'll have to wait and see how he does at the Senior Bowl, but the physical traits are there. Ferrell is probably a better player right now and is tested against much better competition, but Davenport could be a beast in a couple years.
