Not the same type of WR
Looks like a good red zone target with good hands and catches 50/50 balls. 49ers have met with him at the senior bowl 😀

Now that I think the 49ers will pass on Ridley, Gallup is quickly becoming one of my favorite receivers in this draft. Gallup is another that looks like a Shanahan receiver, good route running, makes yards after the catch, quick and catches everything. Hopefully he'll be around in the 3rd where Shanahan will have a two chances to get him.

Several mocks have him going in the late 1st. I expect him to be gone by the mid 2nd at the latest.

Late 1st? I don't know man I'm not buying that kind of hype, I think they're are a bunch of better players than Gallup that SHOULD go in the 1st. I'll say this, if he has a blazing 40 time (4.42) I can see him going in the 2nd like you said, but 1st....that'll be like the 60th player to be drafted in the 1st. lol
This dude is impressive.
Smooth.

Early in the 2nd is about he'll go. I could see him in the 40-50 range. There's a lot to like with him. He seems very polished and well rounded. Hard to find holes in his game. GMs will feel comfortable drafting him because he should be able to contribute early on.

First team all America with tremendous production and nice size. If he runs a good 40 he's a first round lock

Edit: he also has the perfect name for a wr

I am starting to believe with his performance at the Senior Bowl practices he is looking more and more like a First Rounder if he runs anything near a 4.5 he will be at worse a mid First rounder he is much more polished than either Ridley or Sutton... he has amazing hands and, damn he can run routes effortlessly. I hate it because he has been a draft crush of mine for awhile

Much more polished than Ridley is harsh, I'd say as polished.

I think he has better hands and is a little smoother, but Ridley's routes are sharp and he creates amazing separation.

I'm think Sutton is a vertical attack guy only, so no argument there.

Hahaha you nailed it!! Every time somebody likes a prospect on here they assume 1st or early 2nd. They forget there are only 32 teams and every team has different needs. Some good talent will slide into the 3rd and later.

Let me qualify my thoughts...Gallup led all of football in receiving he has caught a lot of passes for Colorado St...a lot!
Now that he is at center stage it is easy to see why. It had been documented extensively about how athletic he is but until you see how effortless he is on the field. The term that is being used is that he glides, he is able to run the smoothest routes and his hands are outstanding. I Know Ridley's strength is in the quickness he shows in turning while running routes a he also is described as polished but his main strength is his potential explosiveness as a receiver, however there are concerns with his ability to get off the line at times, that will be something he will need to work on right away when he plays on Sunday. My personal preference for what the 49ers need Gallup would be a better compliment to Goodwin and Trent Taylor
