Would be funny if we used our 2nd 3rd rounder on him this year when we traded away last year's for Kamara. Kid would be great in this offense, would love to land him there.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. This is one of the deepest RB drafts ever. There's going to be a lot of great RBs pushed down the board because of the depth. I could see Penny being pushed to the third.
I don't think Penny goes before Barkley, Guice or Jones, and I'd be surprised if those three all went in the first. Then you have guys like Bryce Love, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Damien Harris, etc. Guys are going to get pushed down a round or two because of how deep the class is.
It's not difficult to make the case that Penny is the 2nd or 3rd best RB in this class. The other candidates don't offer anything better than Penny.

If Shanahan passes on Saquan Barkley (which I pretty much expect him to), Penny and Love are the two RB's I hope he targets and comes away with one of them. I think bottom of the 2nd and top of the 3rd is where Penny goes, pending 40 time of course. Fast 40 times can boost any players stock even a kickers.

Say it's between him and Ronald Jones from USC, who is the pick ? I was going to add Love but I think he will get drafted after Penny and Jones..

yeah although Love plays alot bigger than he actually he is, teams will probably view him as a McCaffrey or Kamara type of RB. Penny and Jones are 3 down backs for sure.

Wouldn't be upset if we used our Saints pick(that they traded for a chance to draft Kamara) on Penny, though would hope he could be had with one of our 3rds

Exactly what i was thinking. Saints pick will be in the 50s.

Yes he is not getting the hype he deserves. A lot of the so called analysts watch the nationally televised games. San Diego State gets very little if any of those. Most of them have never seen him play. Same for people here on the WZ. Most have never seen him play. He's right on par with Barkley. Big, strong, fast, quick, great vision, super productive, team player, great character. He put up huge #'s and nobody knows about him.
