I don't think there is one spot across the line he didn't play including over the Nose, 3T, 5T, 6 or 7T, and even out in wide 9. There are several clips of him rushing from the outside and he looks pretty good to me from there overall. Shows good initial burst after the snap, bull rushes well, up and under move, speed rush, etc. Pretty darn good for someone who has mostly been inside. I don't think there's any question he's our guy unless we get some sucker team to trade up with us.
Objectively, he's not so hot in double teams but who cares, it frees others up. He can stunt out of holes leaving big holes. He's far far more effective inside. Often times he blows up field AA-style and completely leaves a gaping hole. He has nice closing speed and hustle. Took a few plays off. He lines up a lot at LDE with the usual inside rush. I like that his feel gets better as the game progresses and he gets better as the game goes on. Dude is unblockable inside. Truly. You can toggle him between LDE/5T and RDT/3T but I'll tell you what, I'd put him at 3T and just say, "Here is your gap...go eff someone up. Put the fear of God in them."
The most special plays he mad in this game was when he lined up as 5/4/3tech (and even as a NT
). This guy is special as an interior DL bully. There have been some posters touting his outside rushing (7/9). I'm sorry, but I don't see it.
If he's the pick, I'll love the guy, but I see him as our undertackle or 5T of the future. He's really gifted inside.
