he is going to be great but I think there are bigger needs especially since Dawson is resigned and hes still a great kicker..but I understand it would be great to have a young powerful great kicker for cheap and along time..but if a kicker was top 3 needs then id say throw a 3rd at him but unfortunately the 49ers have greater way more important needs

The 2 positions I pretty much take at face value are punters & kickers. It's not like anyone here is breaking down film of their stances or leg-follow-through. An NFL team used a 3rd-round pick on this guy; 100% of people thought he was at least going to be a good kicker. 100%. Even you.

Unless you can show me a post saying otherwise. If that's the case, then 99.999999% of people thought he was going to at least be a good kicker, and you're the best kicker evaluator on planet earth.

P.S. Janikowski ended up being a better pick than Julian Peterson. Niners pick him, and they have probably 6 rings right now (David Akers).
