Let's see. Bush has a ring, has contributed and is hands down a better overall playmaker than anyone on the 49ers. Mandrich has nothing. If the 49ers had Bush, they would have been a play-off team. So what are you saying?????
Did you absolutely forget about Frank Gore? Gore had more rushing yards in 06 than Bush had his first 3 years in the league. You're giving Bush WAY too much credit...

With that said... LOL @ CJ Spiller = Barry Sanders. More like CJ Spiller = Leon Washington.

There's a big difference between the 2. CJ can run between the tackles, Bush couldnt really. CJ is a game breaker and a work horse at the same time, and he can catch the ball and line up in the slot also. And he can return. He's like prime LT+all the random stuff Reggie Bush can do. He's going to be a FANTASTIC player, if we pass him up and seattle takes him we'll regret it for the next 10 years.
...and in 1995 the Bengals took Ki-Jana Carter over Tony Boselli.

Oh my. If the 49ers offered the Saints either Gore, Willis, Crabree, Davis, Spencer, Clements (and a few more) for Bush they would probably make the swap. Pretty much what I am getting at is that "overall playmaker" means absolutely nothing. We have WAY better players than what you refer to as "overall playmaker".

Finally, I don't know if the 49ers had Bush they would be a playoff team. Maybe, but not definitely. When it is all said and done, we were not as good as the Cards. They beat teams we could not beat (and won a playoff game). Next year is our year!

PS. I hope this is coherent since I have been drinking. Also, I want to point out that I am not against drafting Spiller. In fact I am a big fan. Just wanted to be difficult.

As one of the biggest Spiller fans on this board, you just need to know one thing:

NOBODY compares to Barry Sanders. NOBODY.

Im agree. After that video Im on board!!!!
Here is what I really like about Spiller.... He isn't a skinny little runner like McCluster. And when you are going to return kicks, I always fear that skinnier built players have a higher chance of getting injured.

If you look at Jones-Drew, he may be small, but built very solid... Obviously Spiller doesn't quite have such large theighs but still looks solid.

I would love to see Spiller in Red and Gold!
When he needs to he just shifts into that next gear and blows everyone away. That's the reason why it's Spiller. Line him up on the outside, have him run a streak. Vernon runs a seam and Crabtree runs the fade. If they're somehow all covered, dump it off to Frank for a nice little 10 yard pickup, because Lord knows there will be a sh*tton of defenders 25+ yards downfield at that point. With Bulaga or Brown or Williams or Davis blocking the right side and Staley on the left that right there's the makings of a pretttttttttty, prettttty good offense I'd say.
It should be plain to all who watch the Spiller highlight video that it is sped up. Look, everyone is running faster than normal. Spiller is not as fast as he appears to be on the video.

hell yeah! and who is that #6 keeping pace with spiller?
I will be very upset if we pass on a phenomenal player like Spiller, I'm just hoping he lasts till 13.

I think its possible Seattle grabs him with they're 1st pick & waits to take a tackle with they're 2nd 1st rounder. Basically stealing the combo 49er fans have been hoping for.

I agree......i didn't know he was that good. Fast, tackle breaker, kr/pr, GREAT wr, he is just sick. The only problem our management might have is COFFEE! we may go with the approach that we used a 3rd last year on a rb and now this would be a 1st on a rb that can do return duties as well.

I just hope he is there b/c if we don't take him, sea will and that is not good for us.
