His position here, would be the one currently occupied by Arik Armstead. Edge in base and inside in most sub packages (perhaps at times in subs he may still line up on the edge).

3-4 ends still play in four man fronts in sub packages so he already has experience playing the four man front as well.

We'd be lucky to land him. I bet he goes to Tampa or steelers.

I can see it if he's signing for less than $5m.
Imagine if we had drafted him instead of Aldon...

Go play with his brothers or go back to his home state to play with Rodgers. Would be surprised if he lands anywhere else.

He'd need to be basically a rotational player. For me I'd want a really quality backup behind him. I dunno if he'd be worth it pricewise for that role or who that quality backup would be. But as a leader for a team trying to get over the hump I'd take him all day.
After all the injuries we have had this year- and last etc. etc.- Im more than a bit sheepish about going out and getting him. Love him as a player and him sitting out games- for other teams- doesn't factor in to me at all. But this is the niners and we need people who can stay on the field.

But if he comes to us for a song then- meh- why not?

I agree if we get a deal, but it's early in free agency and with the cap problems league wide due to the reduction, and frankly more positions of need for us right now like QB and CB, I'mm afraid to blow all our available money this early in FA season. He has a great name, character, and pedigree, but him, Jimmy G, and Dee Ford could be more effective as spokesmen for AFLAK and Nationwide at this point in their careers.
Chicago is a dark horse candidate for JJ. The thought of Mack and Watt on the same line would be intimidating as F

JJ Watt the only thing constant and good that Houston has and they couldn't work it out with him. JJ has been there for the team and the city and this is how they take care of him. HOUSTON TEXANS are in bad shape.
