JJ can play edge. I'm pretty sure that's what he's been playing the last few years. Dude wins everywhere.
That's fair.
Shot 3 - Then you get over to the defensive side, and this group starts with JJ Watt and Jadeveon Clowney, a pair of blue chip players who consistently win 1-on-1 matchups. Watt does most of his damage off the edge, with most of Clowney's best plays coming inside against guards pic.twitter.com/MlWZMnkHHm

Can still be disruptive from DE/DT alignments. Speed to power & active hands. Rush end in passing situations + interior stunts on run downs.
Possible team fits...

Bosa and Watt off the edges.

From the games I saw him play this year, he isn't close to the DPOY he once was. He is still a solid player but well on the backside of a HOF career.

Great player, still has a LOT left in the tank imo, but is in no way a scheme fit for our team. JJ is a 3-4 end who can sometimes line up inside in an even front but shouldn't be his primary position imo.
Put him at TE.

He played DE in a 3-4. I think he would be even more impactful in our defense. We wasted 2 first round picks in ST and Balmer. We are in a position to win a SB. Need to jump on the legit opportunities as they come.

Yea I'd pass on Watt at this stage in his career.
In this era, teams have been wrong about making decisions based on a players' age. Players take care of their bodies. Unless they have a chronic issue, great players will play great. This isn't about the regular season.

Would love to have him but I think he joins his two brothers in PIT. It's too cool a story for it not to happen.

I remember people in here were dead against adding Sherman because they also thought he was done. We'd just need JJ for 1-2 seasons at a reasonable price tag.

JJ Watt was on the worst DL in football last season and a pitiful defense. Keep that in mind when considering his numbers & what he has left. I've studied a handful of games and he's still one of the most skilled DL in the NFL with 75-80% of the physical side. That's a ++ starter

Would have been a great pick up, but with him and Ford on the D line, injuries are likely to remain a problem. I really can't see him coming here. I mean, we need edge all right but with rather less wear on the tires.
agree. We need availability! Vs Talent ability!
