I don't agree with sitting the starters for the last preseason game

I think they've been doing good, especially considering they've been playing without Gore, VD, and Crabtree. One series won't make a difference. It's high risk, low reward; I'd rather our guys be healthy for Seattle.

THIS
I'd MUCH rather have them give all the rooks and bubble guys a chance to work and show what they can do.

I agree. At this stage of the game getting Crabs and VD healthy, along with everyone else is the important part of the game. Get it done, get as few essential people hurt as possible and get ready for Seattle.

I'd rather get off to a bad start than lose a key player for the season.
Moreover, you'll be sending your franchise players up against a bunch of guys that are thinking, "If I could just lay the wood to Frank Gore/Smith/VD/Crabtree the coaches can't possibly cut me, despite the fact that I've had a lousy camp."
Week 4 is for evaluating desperate borderline talent that needs to do something spectacular. It's the most dangerous week of the entire NFL calendar and it's the last place you want to place your key--hell, any--starters.

They'll get their reps together in practice. Not worth getting injured for a series or two.

as soon as someone is injured in Thursday's game think of this. That guy could be one of the 9ers starters. There are 2 many PS games and our starters will be fine. Right now the staff needs to focus on the last few ? marks on the roster and figure out where guys fit in and who will make the roster and set the final depth chart. That is the purpose of this game.
