VD should have called out Crabtree. I don't think there will be any issues between the two. I stayed at the hotel with the players in Indy. These two were actually hanging together when I asked VD to sign my jersey. He signed it, while Crabtree went up the elevator. Funny, he asked me what I was going to do with the jersey. I guess he thought I was trying to sale it on ebay or something. Nope, I stalk down players for my personal pleasure. I asked Crabtree when I saw him alone later and got shot down. I think these two are closer than what everyone thinks.

Crabtree is an ass! I thought so during his holdout and still do, now more than ever. Those who excuse or ignore his antics and attitude with the comment, "As long as he produces" are ignoring the potential detriment to team chemistry and the perception of favoritism. He needs to be taken down a notch. I only wish VD would have physically kicked his butt too!
everything weve seen and heard about crabtree says he seriously needs a reality check. its like he think he is above playing in preseason games but hes never played in one in his life. he also is the only player on the team that demands special requests to speak to the media? i also recently watched an interview with him and jay glazer where glazer asked him if they hazed him this year at all because he missed camp last year. his was response was no and that he would "refuse to carry anyones pads or helmet." im starting to think he doesnt talk to the media because everyone would realize how much of a jackass he is if he did.

Deion was his adviser right? He's full of himself just like Primetime.

Can someone post that pick of Crabgreed's face on MC Hammer's body?

Deon was his mentor. Enough said right there. He will probably listen to Michael Irvin before Rice any day. He's probably listening to Irvin right now. I can totally hear Irvin telling him how one time he didn't sleep and still dominated practice. I bet Crabs was a hardcore Dallas fan and never really wanted to be a Niner.s What made him happy to be here you say? He didn't want to be amRaiders even more.

Why do you want him listening to jerry? So he can go and surprise the seahawks at their team meeting?! Damn You Jerry!!!

At the end of the day, Vernon is the right person to get on him. He can't say much to a captain who's a ProBowl TE with more speed than him and who has worked his ass off learning how to block and catch along with the fact that Vernon can probably beat anyone's ass on the team.

The fact that teammates fist pounded Vernon after he came out says more than anything and that Crabtree doesn't have a leg to stand on in this.

For those of you who think Vernon did it the wrong way then tell that to guys like Ronnie Lott and Michael Jordan who punched teammates for not doing things right because of their desire to win.

On a side note, Kobe gets punched more than doing the punching.

Good Post

Some things indicate how much a person cares about things. When asked by Glazer if there's anything Singletary has said that has stuck in his mind because Singletary is such a good speaker, here's what Crabtree said (paraphrasing):

"Not really...I mean...he's a good motivator and speaker...there are 5 things he has up on the wall..."

What's even worse is that he only knew 2 of those 5 things. That tells you right there where his priorities are at. I think he's already counting the days left on his contract as a Niners.

From now on, any incompletion Smith throws to Crabs is all Crabs' fault.

You never get the feeling that Crabtree bought all the way in to Singletary's philosophies and beliefs. Sure he's on the team but that's different than being part of the team.

I just don't know why this was not addressed sooner. It seems that Singletary knew all along this would happen. The "elephant in the room" theory says it all. Why let it get to this point? I think Willis should beat Crabtree's ass as well

Last week, quarterback Alex Smith called a meeting after a practice that included Davis, Crabtree, Frank Gore, Josh Morgan and Ted Ginn.

Said Smith, "I think we all wanted to kind of come together and make sure we were all on the same page as a perimeter group -- that we had the right attitude, the right mindset going forward, and we were going to set some things straight with all of us to make sure we were all thinking the same thing."

Agree with that. I'm sure Singletary would rather let the players take care of this themselves. But he knew after the Oakland game it would boil over.

This will be good for the team once regular play begins, a little internal friction can be a good thing, if the friction remained, then the team would have a few whiners in the locker room and not on the same page as everyone else.
If anyone can remember back in 94 during the playoff game vs The Bears, it was reported Steve and Jerry werent' exactly seeing eye to eye in the locker room, but on the first drive after we scored a TD, Shaun Gayle from the Bears whacked Steve a good one after the whistle had blown, and next thing you know Jerry was attacking Shaun Gayle in defense of his QB

I'm one of the few that feels this is a good thing, hopefully in some weird way this will get everyone on the same page, I'm glad they got it out of the way before the season opener

i was talking about way back when we had TO, you know...

Here's what I don't understand. The week leading up to the Raider game Crabtree was fine. There were videos of him making nice one handed grabs in practice. Neck looked fine to me. Then Singletary confirms that Crabtree would play extensively in that game.

Then to everyone's surprise Crabs is a late scratch because his neck was "stiff" that day?

So Singletary couldn't tell if Crabs was honestly still hurting? Or since he's too valuable better not chance it???
If Crabs is acting like a diva then I am glad Vernon called him on it. Hopefully it's all settled now and everyone knows their place on the team and what is expected of them.
