Can you see Zeigler becoming our #2?

in short no, Zeigler is tops a #3 in this league. Morgan brings to much in terms of blocking and he fits what the 9ers want in a #2 WR. IMO Zeigler may not be the #4 right now he has played better than Ginn IMO and should get a shot which I think he will at some point during the RS.
morgan was suppose to have a break out season last season, hopefully it will be this year. as far as zeigler, we really havent seen much of him in a regular season game to base judgment

Hes doing well enough to be the 6th receiver no more. I still think Jason Hill is much better receiver than whats been going on this preseason. Oh well if Zeigler or Hill are released, if I were them I would try and hit up Chicago for a job. They seem to be a lot more comfortable in Martz' offense.

Chicago has a lot better receivers than us, so I doubt they're in need. But I do agree on Hill. I prefer him over Morgan as well, but all accounts make it seem as if he is on his way out. My money says he ends up on the Hawks if he gets cut.

I hope you're not serious...

Why? I can't be honest. Knox, Hester, Aromashadu, Bennett... they can all play. I'd take Crabtree over all of them, but as a unit, I'd take their guys over ours.

At this point Zeigler is the #4 WR. He runs precise routes and makes acrobatic catches. His route running makes him a favorite of Jerry Sullivan and a safety valve for the QB.

He reminds me of a less athletic Brandon Lloyd minus the attitude problem.

Please enlighten me. After Devin Hester, who does Chicago have as far as wideouts?

Remember these names:

Johnny Knox http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqt5h6zuSqU
Devin Aromashadu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uvSheGHg-Q
Earl Bennett

Highlight reels don't make NFL players, Knox is fast, but he is pretty small, I'll take Ted Ginn. Aromashadu has potential but I'd still take Morgan over him, he's made better highlight reels. See Rams 2008.

None of the people you mentioned have really done much as a WR, Knox made the majority of his plays as a returner, but he did have one nice long catch during the season. Niners top 3 WR > Bears top 3 WR every day of the week son!

You're being a homer. Aromashadu's highlight reel against the VIKINGS is much more impressive than Morgan's hail mary grab against the RAMS. All of those guys on the Bears have better speed than our receivers and speed is the name of the game at that position. We're debating over a bunch of unprovens, but I'm taking the better talent every day of the week, and the Bears have that.

Homer-ism? Really? That's what people who know they're wrong revert to. At the end of the season lets compare which team has more pro-bowlers at the WR and TE position, there's your answer.

Speed only really counts in Madden, go watch Rice.

Edited for the grammar-police

The Pro Bowl is a terrible measure for which team has better receivers and when did TE's come into your discussion, it really has no place in proving anything here considering Mike Martz's historical use of the TE. Greg Olsen has little to no chance of seeing as many targets as VD will. Outside of Crabtree it's really a push as to which team has better WR depth at this point IMHO.

A big difference for the Bears can be having a better pure passer whereas in our case if Crabtree can build on last year and take the next step he and VD will garner a load of attention allowing the other receivers on our team more single coverage looks.
I don't know why everyone keeps saying Morgan was supposed to have a breakout season last year? Who said that? The guy is a 6th round pick. Give him credit for producing what he has so far considering our unstable QB situation that we have had since he was drafted.

He has already produced with

1) O'Sullivan
2) Hill
3) Smith
1)Crabs

2)Ginn

3)fodder

I really think Crabdouche needs some humility and work ethic.
