Actually, I never wanted him to be the head coach, so there's a slight bit of optimism. We're definitely screwed next season, but Mack can't leave in the middle of a crisis like this, especially since you don't want to replace him with some scrub.
If Muschamp takes Major, I will punch his face though.

Can we get Mack Brown to run the Niners? This is how you handle coaching hires. The local media and fans here have been up in arms for weeks "why haven't we hired anyone? Why doesn't Mack say anything to the press"
Instead of rushing out and issuing statements to cater to the masses or rushing a hire, or hire from within, he waits, brings in qualified candidates from all over and ends up getting top quality hires.
