Yeah although Barton has done a reasonable job at 1B this month. Not surprising since he's had two huge SEPs the past two seasons.
-.235/.333/.471 with 2 2Bs/2 HRs/6 RBIs and a 5 BB/6 K ratio in 34 ABs.
AVG isn't great, nor is the OBP but he's showing some power and a good patience at the plate.
Certainly not as great as what we've seen the past two SEPs but I'd like to give Barton a shot as the full time 1B at least until midway thru 2010 and see what he can do with possibly 200-300 ABs to start the season.
Carter I see staying in AAA for probably at least half the 2010 season.
Now Wallace I think there is a better chance he makes the team out of ST although I honestly don't know where you'd put him. I'd like to personally let him finish the first few months in AAA in 2010 to begin the season giving him almost a full year in AAA dating back to his time with STL earlier this season.

Correction, Carter didn't hit a HR in 5 consecutive postseason games.
He hit one in his 5th consecutive game dating to the regular season finale.
Oh yeah, congrats to Tomko last night for pitching a CG shutout for his 100th career win. He's pitched very well so far with the A's, don't think the A's will bring him back but nice to see him finishing off the latter part of his season well.

I've never been to Wrigley. That would be a trip worth scheduling.

Nice sweep. A's pitching only allowed one run to TEX this three game set, I know TEX is struggling offensively and has a few key bats out but still, to hold any offense to one run in a three game set in that park is impressive.
Cahill after a hiccup last start continues his very good pitching the last 5 or so weeks. He and Anderson both have 9 wins, with each having around 3 or 4 more starts, I think both can reach the 10 win plateau. But as I've said previously, both should've passed that marks weeks ago, as with more run support this season, they could be in the low teens right now in terms of wins.
Mazzaro is out for the season which is the bad news but I guess this will allow somebody like Mortenson a shot to be in the rotation for the rest of this season as he's look good in his past two starts especially his last start against MIN over the weekend.
Davis continues to amaze me on how well he's doing. I still don't know if I believe he can continue this torrid pace especially to begin a new season but he'll be the opening day CF to start 2010.
Barton like his two previous SEPs in 07 and 08 is having another great SEP of 2010 with a line of .295/.404/.545 in 44 ABs. I don't know what's up with him but if he continues, he should be the opening day starter at 1B in 2010. He has 18 BBs/19 Ks this season in 38 games so he's showing that good eye he's been known for since being dealt. Issue is his hitting consistently thru the season and IMO still being too selective at the plate.
Sweeney like Davis may have penned his named into one of the starting OF spots to begin next season. .360/.421/.500 in 50 SEP ABs, but he's beeing doing well since the break with a line of 311/.371/.466 in 193 ABs. HR power still isn't there but he is hitting more XBHs the second half with 17 2Bs/2 3Bs in 55 ABs whereas he only had 11 2Bs/1 3B in 255 first half ABs. Even if he maxs out to maybe 15 HRs, if he can hit 35-40 2Bs along with being a .280-.290 hitter, I'd take it even coming from a power position as it looks like he'll be short term at least in RF with his good arm.
Pennington has shocked the hell out of me. .360/.458/.600 with 4 2Bs/3B/2 HRs/5 RBIs with 9 BBs/11 Ks in 50 SEP ABs. Like with Davis, really don't know if this is legit especially the power as he's showing more power in the bigs than he ever did in the minors. I still think he's a placeholder for SS until Green arrives though.

Saw the A's will have free parking at the coliseum parking lot on TUE home games next season.
Well that's about 15 bucks off for those who park there, I personally have parked at the coliseum BART station.

Cahill in those seven starts that I mentioned previously has a 2.79 ERA/1.10 WHP in 42 IP.
Been doing against playoff caliber teams too so he's not pitching against the dredges of the AL the past 5-6 weeks.
Regarding Davis, he doesn't have enough ABs to qualify but he'd be tied for 8th in the AL in AVG. .347/.400/.475 in 202 ABS since the break while also being 27/33 on SBs while being 6th in SBs in the entire bigs.
Again doubt he'll put up these #s in 2010 for a full season but I'd take .280/.350/.375 from him while swiping maybe 50 bags.
