No I don't think the spectrum is all that wide. In a stronger draft, guys like Thabeet and J. Hill would be 10-15. I think of it this way Thabeet probably goes top 5 and a guy like Varnado goes bottom of first.....other than size I don't think there's all that great a disparity....both are great shot blockers and limited offensively....one is just huge.

Size is very important though.

You can get away with being less skilled when you're 7"3, with a 7"9 wingspan, and huge hands.

I'm not saying that he did anything illegal or even wrong for that matter. But he obviously put himself in a stupid position. The vast majority of athletes who get into trouble aren't thugs who are actively trying to commit crimes, but they put themselves in dumb positions. Like the old saying goes, nothing good happens at 3am.

That's why I called him a turkey. If he was my kid I'd give him a " were you thinking" cuff upside the head and be done with it.

Apparently Victor Claver is entering the draft.
6-10, 220 Spanish power forward.



I've never seen him play but I've heard his name for awhile. He worked out for several NBA teams last year but then withdrew his name from the draft.




Apparently he has a knee injury, but someone will draft him in the high-mid 2nd round and just stash him overseas.

Seems like a more athletic Vlad Radmanovic to me.

^ I made a post about him on the last page in response to who I'd like to see the Lakers pick. I made a comparison to Tim Thomas, but Radmanovic works too. He's a better ball handler than Radmanovic is though.

This draft is so deep at combo guard, IMO.

This is unrelated, but someone explain to me how Danilo Gallinari went 6th in the very deep 2008 draft.

I mean, what separated him from guys like Casspi, Claver, Marko Keslj, Dasic

-Newest mock draft, with Jeff Teague, Gani Lawal, and Patrick Patterson staying in the draft. With those three guys looking like they might stay in the draft, the draft got a little bit stronger. Especially Lawal, who I think is absolutely foolish to come out and end up going in the 15-25 range. I think Lawal with another year had the potential to be a high lottery pick. Somebody is going to get a steal. Lawal in the 15-25 range is a far better investment than taking Jordan Hill in the top 5.

-Also, I have Tyler Smith going back to Tenneesse, since he's definitely not going in the first round.

^Mullens would be good value that low.

Man if Petrie doesn't get a top 2 pick, watch out. It will be an exciting draft to say the least. I have a hunch he picks someone out of leftfield if he doesn't have a shot at Rubio or Griffin. Maybe he likes Jennings but in general Petrie picks the best player he feels is available, regardless of what everyone else thinks.
