Super bantamweight Christopher "S.D. Kid" Martin (25-2-3, 8KOs) will have his chance at redemption when he faces the man that ruined his undefeated record in Mexico City's Jose Angel Beranza (35-25-2, 27KOs) in the eight round main event of southern California's Thompson Boxing's fight card slated for Friday, February 22nd. The bout will be take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA, about 90 minutes north east of Martin's hometown.

Sources close to Juan Manuel Marquez have told Fightnews.com that Marquez has made a decision to continue his boxing career and he is expected to reappear in the ring in April. Marquez consulted with his wife and children and concluded he'll continue in boxing. Apparently last Friday Marquez met with promoter Fernando Beltran in Mexico City and mentioned several opponents including prospect Jesse Vargas and venues in Mexico and the U.S. Possibly Marquez' next fight could be a ten-rounder or a defense of his WBO junior welterweight crown.
There are talks about Marquez being offered 15 million for a fight in Dubai in April.

Matchups still haven't been officially announced for the planned May 4 mega-event in Las Vegas but Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez are likely to fight on the same card. Robert Guerrero is considered the frontrunner to face Floyd while Canelo has several potential opponents under consideration. What are the chances of a blockbuster Mayweather vs. Alvarez collision taking place on May 4th? For now Eddy Reynoso (Alvarez' manager) has denied this possibility but has indicated there is still a pending meeting with Golden Boy.
