lets see....... Michael just finished a CAREER day. One of his best ever statistically, and wants to celebrate: As a millionaire who could hire the finest, he decides either its not worth the $, or he has something to prove and needs to hurt a woman, because the 300 lb dudes trying to take out his ACL don't pose near as big a threat. Who does this actually make sense to?

Come on man don't start some sh*t like that. I don't like Pete Carroll but as a man I would like to believe that when he lost he didn't plot a sex scandal on the 49ers to distract them lol That's just a ridiculous thing to say. He's not a psychopath

That is probably along the lines of what happened. And now she wants a pay day. I'm assuming crabs is a bachelor and didn't break any vows or anything so the act itself isn't wrong, but as a millionaire he's gotta realize that there is a greater potential for something like this to happen to him. It could be argued that this is none our business but I'm sure its going to be mentioned during the telecast and I'm going to have to explain his actions to my 7 year old son, as will plenty of others who frequent this board.
I sincerely hope nothing happened, but given she waited a couple of days to contact the police it looks a lot like either a money or revenge play - e.g. he was supposed to call her or she thought it was going to a relationship and he's said no.
Further to that, he's interviewed and co-operated (which will mean DNA tests etc.) and the police have still let him go to the game, which would imply to me the police believe it was consensual.

I wish he would've gotten arrested for getting in a fight with a drunk GB or ATL fan, and was out playing on bail. That's preferable to this BS. I hope we get word that this all BS before kickoff.

The burden of proof is necessary to create a conviction. Unfortunately, in crimes involving rape, sexual assault, molestation, etc. there is a huge psychological element that is involved that is reinforced by our culture and society to suppress the victim. They are also very hard to prove in court. (How often is someone randomly there when a rape is being committed that is not in league with the rapist?). 8/10 Rapist or predators are people the victim knows or are people who have groomed them. It is already an extremely difficult task for a woman or girl to ever come out and say something in those situations let alone have the strength to call the police and have a rape kit administered. And when it comes to rape kits that would supply the necessary evidence, there are hundreds of thousands that go unprocessed due to lack of funding. http://endthebacklog.org/ I agree that we should look out for people falsely accusing others and our justice system is really good at doing that, but there needs to be some change considering the hard facts associated with this type of crime.
(RAINN is one of the largest anti rape, assault, abuse organizations in the US)
http://www.rainn.org/get-information/statistics/sexual-assault-victims
1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime (14.8% completed rape; 2.8% attempted rape).
17.7 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape.
9 of every 10 rape victims were female in 2003.
The sheer number of crimes being committed means pretty much everyone knows a survivor of sexual assault or rape. You may never know it. After I learned about this, 50%!!!! of the women I know have opened up and told me about something that has happened to them because I have made it known that it was a safe space to speak about these things and I try to get the word out whenever I can.
Now if that wasn't enough:
http://www.rainn.org/get-information/statistics/reporting-rates
54% of rapes/sexual assaults are not reported to the police, according to a statistical average of the past 5 years. Those rapists, of course, never spend a day in prison. Factoring in unreported rapes, only about 3% of rapists ever serve a day in jail.
I believe we should think hard about these facts as a community of fans and do what we can to change how we feel about these types of events. Our posts here could add to a culture that is already very scary for women and girls to come out and say anything about sexual violence. Its an extremely scary thing. Its not uncommon for people not to say anything for many years, or even their whole lives. That is the nature of this terrible crime. It doesn't just hurt physically, it scars people deeply.
As for Crabtree. I hope he is innocent, we don't need another raped/molested/abused woman in this world. Innocent until proven guilty. But I think we should ask ourselves if we are helping or hurting when it comes to the culture that creates the environment for these crimes to occur or to go unpunished.
Just my two cents.
Nice post!
But I wonder what the statistic is of women who accuse men of rape because
A.) They want to get back at that man for whatever reason
B.) They want money
C.) They need the attention
My point is, some women are just crazy and psychotic. They will go that extra mile to bring that ex-husband/ex-boyfriend down. In Crabtree's case....who knows. Maybe she wanted him and he refused her so she screamed rape. Maybe it was consensual and she still screamed rape because she thought he would stay with her and he thought it was just another booty call. I look at Crabtree and I do not see a rapist. That is what my heart tells me not just because I am a 49ers fan. I see a humble/shy individual. Now if someone like Richard Sherman was accused of Rape, I would believe it. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I already have a bad image painted of him in my mind. All the trashtalk he does/taking steroids/causing all sorts of other problems off the field.
I just hope that Crabs is innocent so we can move on and smash the falcons. This is so unfortunate. He had a monster season and a great postseason so far. Other that Kaepernick, he is the talk of the town and the NFL. Now this to diminish all of that. Such a shame

The thing about this is there are NO FACTS to look at, no one knows anything other than he was questioned, yet a LOT of posters here are calling this girl a slut. THAT is a problem. That's the exact thing that real women that are legitimately raped fear when they come forward, is hearing s**t like that.

Rich guys just need to record everything they do privately with people they don't know.
Not for putting it on the Web or anything but just to have something more than "he said, she said".

Just pray this is one whole big scam by this woman and the cops/investigators see that and clear Crabtree within the next few days. Crabtree ain't a choir boy, but I don't think he's a rapist either.
Crabtree is one of those guys we can ill afford to lose. Without him we're screwed; WR corp wise and the chances of us beating ATL. He better be cleared...

Just search for "women falsely accuse men" on google, and you'll be shocked at the lengths some of these women go to get back at a guy. "Oh you forgot my name? RAPE!!!"

dudes, there is no conspiracy behind this. Some drunk broad came back to his room, they f**ked, he kicked her to the curb the next morning making her feel like a total whore. She got mad, decided to press charges. She's gonna say she was too drunk to say no, and that he had his way with her. Witnesses will come forward saying she was all over him at the club and video will appear of her walking into the hotel with him, completely under her own control. Probably settle out of court and the whore will finally get her money for her services.

A little info. The way this works is police investigate, and then turn their finding over to the district attorney. The DA then decides if charges should be filed. The fact that Crabs wasn't detained, and was allowed to fly thousands of miles away from SF, means that this is looking good for Crabs.
IDK if DAs work on Saturdays, but I hope we get some sort of statement today. Either way, I have a gut feeling we're going to see a very pissed off and motivated Crabs tearing up ATL's secondary.

You could tell things were going downhill when Crabs shows up for his GB press conference in shades. Ok. Someone's been reading their own press clippings.
Let me see. How will coach take this? hmmm. Regardless of what happened in the hotel room, the question is what was he doing in a hotel room. Disappointing.
I'll reserve further comment until more info comes out and Crabs talks for himself. Some of the comments and reasoning on this thread are rude, not mature. You don't give the person alleging a free ride by being mature in your remarks before facts are known. Once the H* and B***h language comes out, it's a dump on every guy. Just makes it that much easier dump on guys as a stereotype. Thank you. Not.
