Should the 49ers trade TE Vernon Davis this offseason?

Everything you said is exactly how I see him. He does not play BIG. Every time the ball is thrown to him I'm waiting for the drop. You don't see that with the other top TE. I want to believe he is as great as he thinks he is. Not sure I'd want to trade him just yet though.
Teams scheme against him. itakes Everyone Else better

This response is as bad as the original thread.
Vernon helped out big time to get Bowman extended. He needs to get more comfortable with Kap. Yes it can be done, wouldn't be good. June 1 would allow to cut bonus over 2 seasons, but to get value you trade before june 1st to get a good pick, so it's a 50-50 thing.
terrible idea and even a worse quote.. VDavis is my favorite player on this team... and how many times was he targeted last few games? they need to design more plays around him and things will be fine.. Davis is a big tame player and he can pull 10 catches 100+ yards per game numbers if he is given the opportunity..

cooooo, i really do not care what you think about my response..just putting my opinions out there.
VD had plenty of yards and TD's early in the season. He was playing with ALEX then... More chemistry developed there. Kaep doesn't even pass to him ever.

Teams scheme for every player though. Not saying your wrong cause you are not, but VD still needs to find his place. Too much talent to waste.
This thread sucks

dumb thread

I agree, but we clearly haven't been giving him that opportunity.

YES!
I forgot where I heard it, maybe Collinsworth. But some QBs look from the outside-in, and others from in to outside. Then it takes them a while to see the whole field (if they ever get there). Smith obviously saw the TEs before the WRs, and Kap is the exact opposite. Hopefully over time, Kap utilizes VD more.
