Not so much the lack of explosive plays but more the lack of any successful plays that resulted in a 1st down.
Fans overreact. Both positively ("this team could go 16-0") and negatively ("this team might not make the playoffs"). It's what we do. The NFL exists for entertainment. For people to let out feelings (anger, frustration, insane jubilation) that are simply not acceptable in other forms in our society. We get to live through proxy wars, fought on our behalf by gladiators. It's awesome, and we're fortunate to have such a high quality, well orchestrated production like the NFL.
If you choose to enjoy football by methodically dissecting every play using logic and your best football knowledge, have at it. But recognize that others just enjoy football for the emotionally insanity of it, including getting all pissed off when the team loses and all elated when it wins. Whatever. To each their own.
We were 2 plays away from winning this game easily. Alex missed Moss for an easy TD which we should convert 95% of the time under the same circumstances. Then we miss out on an easy pick 6 late in the 4th which would have been the go ahead score.
I can even add a 3rd play, the first Minn TD. That was an unbelievable one handed catch. 99 out of 100, like that, dont get completed. There were even more plays, but the stars were just alligned for Minn to win. s**t Happens!
