Is the 49ers offence to conservative?

You do know that jumbo package is responsible for three rushing touchdowns so far this season? To include gore's 23 yard run against the packers.
im not trying to be negative but i think we were a little too conservative. i even thought towards the end of the game that it would have bit us n the butt for a second. i think we should open it up a little more i mean i thought that was part of the reason why we signed these wr . im not saying lets go and be the saints or the packers but just a little more down field that's all. im afraid being so conservative is gonna bite us down the road.
No but your grammar and spelling are! LOL

I know some think its great to do a 80 yard scoring drive in 2:17. I just don't think there is a full understanding of the ramifications of such actions. We have a very strong balance, this team is what I would call harmonic or resonant in the balance and that is leading to a maximization of many facets of the game. One, we are continuously making long strong drives down the field, keeping our D fresh, wearing down their D, and keeping the opposing offense from getting in rhythm.

If we start rapid firing, then our defense will not get the rest they need and the opposing teams will do better. No doubt about it. There is trade offs, is it a surprise that all the high powered offenses have horrible defenses?

Our approach is successful, we out "flank" the opponent continuously, we frustrate them continuously, and we eat up that clock and enforce our will. Chaning our system in my opinion is idiotic, we are a force to be reckoned with. It's not like our coaches will get pigeon holed, when the time is needed we'll flip the switch and catch people off guard.
I like the play calling. Alex is taking what the defence is giving him and not trying to force it down field and make mistakes. We'll leave that up to the other NFL QBs who are throwing a record number of interceptions this year!! If we score an average of 30pts per game with our defence we'll win most games!!
I love how we're one of the few teams in the league with a physical offense. Don't change a thing.

i thought this type of post and topic should be thrown into the trash a long time ago. there is nothing wrong with our offense. work on pass protection a bit, work on the drops by the wide outs, get a better second tight end but our offense is just fine thank you. no one ever said we would fling it down field anyway the pass plays to marion and crabs are perfect examples of what we do,, ten yard passes, yards after catch, move chains, mix it up, just stop it

This thread is stupid. The only problem is this offense is not Fantasy friendly. If we are scoring and chewing time off the clock its all good. I have faith that if the opposing defense puts 8 in the box that this team can exploit it at will. I'm happy with the way things are. Throwing long because others do it is just plain stupid. You do what works. And if conservative works then go with it.

I still think Madden and FF have ruined how people look at a game.

I disagree,If you keep running the ball all the time the other defences around the leage will catch on and play eight men in the box.I dont think other teams are convinced that alex smith can beat them. How can the 49ers exploit any defence when the 49ers cant even convert 3rd downs on a consistant basis.I think that is stupid
jesus.. have you seen the games? we have mixed it up alot, the other teams usually has no clue what we are doing. i thnk you are stuck in reverse and are talking about a niner team of three years ago. did you not see the game last night when we converted third downs left and right on the final key drive? good teams finish strong and we did. we have had a nice balence of run and pass, we have had a nice balence of touchdowns and field goals and why the hell am i even discussing this
I really wish people around here would stop thinking they know more about coaching than the best coaching staff in football

you have the lead in the fourth quarter, you do not take alot of nutty chances down the field. you want alot of quick 3 and outs. we signed these wide outs so we have more and better options than last year(thank god we got rid of josh morgan). we ran a drive, killed five minutes off the clock and got points out of it so what exactly is your problem? i find it really hard to believe that after last year and esp after the first two games there are still some people whining and moaning about how we play the game,, jesus

No!
This thread perfectly encapsulates Niner Talk.

I know nothing about calling plays at the professional level but based off my limited knowledge and under developed views of football, I'm going to make an Internet thread and demand my team change their play calling despite the fact that they've scored 27+ points and have two wins.
ummm, far better than Hostler's or Raye's playbook.
