We will sign Morgan and draft a nice raw talent. We already proved we don't need a high priced WR to win games. We just need our guys to be healthy and have more talent at the #4 and #5 spots...not like most teams do...but I guess it is ideal to not have a Brett Swain as the #5 receiver...like GB did...

Garcon is a guy who wouldn't be as pricy as some of the others. Add him, a rookie through the draft and this team is good to go, if they want to go beyond that, they can add Fleener as well and really have a nice looking offense next year.
I'd love to have Bowe, I think he's truly the perfect receiver for this offense and would make this team a lot better but I also don't think there's any chance in hell of Kansas City letting him walk, not with all that massive cap space they're going to have.

Blackmon's not even that good. He's #1 in a draft that lacks lots of talent at the very top. There's teams that have pushed him down to second on their draft board behind Kendall Wright even. He's definitely not a Fitzgerald/Calvin Johnson type.

I would love to see these things happen:
1. Bring back Morgan. I think he will be cheap to re-sign, possibly to a 1-year deal. It would give him a chance to bounce back from injury and test free agency again next year.
2. Go after Robert Meachem or Mario Manningham. We don't need to break the bank for a receiver, and I think we would get the best bang for our buck with one of these guys. Manningham should get a nice deal, but nothing crazy.
3. Draft a WR somewhere in rounds 1-3. This should be a guy who has the raw talent to develop into a #1.
4. If we lose Ginn, target a late-round WR with return ability.

My issue is this, if they're going to go out and get a free agent, get something better than they already have. Manningham is your stereotypical #3 WR, how does he improve this offense, he's simply going to be another guy to get locked down by a CB. Keep in mind that a lot of the time, the 49ers are only playing with 2 WR's on the field, so is Manningham that big of an improvement over Morgan to justify the additional salary? I don't think so. They're basically the same size, same speed.....etc.
If they are going to go out and sign a free agent WR, it shouldn't be done just for the hell of it, it should be to sign someone who brings something unique to the table.

Can you imagine Vincent Jackson from the Chargers and Fleener at TE for this offense? Holy crap...
So now you have Hunter who you can use like Sproles, a healthier Gore to pound inside, plus a draft pick
Solid OL with hopefully an upgrade and some more depth (competition at least for C and LT and RG)
Miller at FB with a draft pick for grooming and ST
WR's you'd have Crabtree, Jackson and Morgan and a speedster who can take the top off
TE would be VD and Fleener
Wow, big targets who can get separation in VD, Fleener, Jackson and even Morgan plus quick options who are dangerous in the open field like Crabtree and Hunter.
Baalke, make this happen!!!

i think niners know what time it is, i doubt they gonna settle for a number 2 reciever, i think they know they need vincent jackson or bowe.

manningham sucks , he is a number 3 at best. he was just on a good passing team with plenty of WR talent.

its just look at it... we got that far with those players at the skill positions. imagine what happens with better players. you cant seriously tell me that crabtree and morgan are better than the FA's that are likely to be available. im not saying vjax or bowe or anyone that compromises the cap like the redskins insanity. just bring in players that are better than joe hastings and brett swain lol for better depth, and draft some guys to become starters too. you dont draft for depth, you draft to replace starters, by bringing in better talent.
49ers essentially need 1-2 WR's, either through the draft or through free agency, that's it, especially when you consider how often they run 2 TE formations, 3 TE formations.....etc.
I'd LOVE to see Garcon in a 49ers uniform, he is one of the younger free agent WR's and doesn't have injury concerns like Colston or head concerns like Jackson(both of them).
Additionally, anything else that can help in the red-zone, hell I'd be okay with another RB if he was a bulldozer type that could straight maul people, the role Dixon can't handle because on the inside he's 5'8" and 170. A big TE to target on passes in the end-zone or down the middle of the field, a fast, burner-type WR in the draft, the kind of guy the Raiders usually look for, someone that can explode down field, stretch the defense and has the hands to make plays.
that made me laugh, i see what you did there. yeah bringing in garcon is a great idea, thats the thing, the talent we have at wr is so bad, other teams 3rd guys would be our starters. we dont need to blow the bank for vjax, anyone is an improvement.

Kendall Wright out of Baylor in the 1st round. Seems like every highlight I see of RG3 shows Wright catching TD's

agreed. IF the browns dont have to trade up and land RG3 at 4 I will be shocked if they dont do everything they can do land Wright(I.E. trading that extra second and 1st rounder from the falcons to a team in the mid teens and snagging him right after someone takes Floyd)
