And the Packers do the same. They are up on every team by 10+ points by the start of the 4th quarter. Rushing attempts against them is way down. When its halftime and you're down by 10+ points to the most prolific offense in the NFL you are going to have to start passing. Its pretty much like Oregon and Stanford last weekend. Stanford was behind the entire game yet still kept trying to run and Oregon kept scoring TDs on explosive plays. The thing about Green Bay is that they just don't beat themselves. In a head to head matchup if I had to choose which QB would make the costly mistake to lose the game it would be Alex Smith.

Well yeah, we'd definitely be screwed then. Like the Eagles game. Down at half time and that was that.

Oh, wait a minute.......l

You would obviously choose Smith to make a mistake. But that is something he hasnt done much of this year.

I am quite happy that all the Packer fans are convinced they are unbeatable this year. Hopefully their players feel the same way.

And comparing Stanford to ORE is way off. One team completely over matches the other in terms of team speed. This is the NFL, everyone runs fast. Coaching weighs in a lot in the NFL.
Gotta have some running game in there.....all Superbowls winning teams had an above average RB on there roster.....one coinceids with the other......need a TEAM to win a SB, not individual players.....you notice they dont introduce player by player before the game now at the SB anymore....thats cause The Patriots decided to come out as a TEAM that first SB win of three....thats what its gonna take and I think our guys know and buy into that concept....
Yo JoeCool you are right Atlanta and Chicago are the two best defenses the Packers have played. The Packers beat both of those teams by more than 10 points. Your point is? The 49ers offense is not any better than either Chicago's or Atlanta's so what is your point? Oh I almost forgot, the 49ers have not faced ANYONE with an offense like the Packers. Oh yeah this offense that hasn't played anyone is a better offense this year than the one who played the #1 defense last year in points allowed in the Super Bowl. Who won that one? Keep dreaming about this awesome defense. How many points did you give up to Philly? How many points do you think the Packers would score on you?

Last year, is last year buddy, if you want to bring up last season stats just look at the 49ers or the Jets and you'll see how much influence it plays into this season.

If you take a quick check we are 7th in the league for pts scored. That stat alone basically blows up your whole response and shows that you are now making arguments based on your feelings and perceptions rather than reality. A little research shows that the 49ers (7th in ppts/game) have played against the 3,7,10,11,12,17,18,19,28 in points allowed. Note that the 28th team we put up 40+ on. SO you argument about the 49ers having a crap offense and not being able to put points on the board is BS.

So you can pretend that the cup cake schedule the pack have played hasn't provide a bit of gain to your teams actual abilities, but I don't by it for a second. You guys are not untouchable and have a tough second half of the season. We will find out just how good yall are, I'd be shocked if the pack went undefeated this season. Shocked.

Packers would probably score 9 points on the 49ers D

Seriously, guy doesn't have anything to back up except ha ha we are better blah blah

Sucks for them is that they need thier whole play book on these weak defenses

He's right so it actually shows how much YOU know.

It is a team game no matter what you think. If it was just about the qb, Manning and Brady would have many more rings. Educate yourself before you post nonsense like that.

You got nothing better to do than troll? If you were confident about the result you wouldn't be here. Keep whistling if it makes you feel better.

DEFENSE:
I think we agree that your defense is no joke and is the real deal. You also need to understand that we have played some of the top defenses already AND are averaging 26 ppg. Not bad, considering that is the exact amount GB averaged vs average defenses?

Honestly, I think GB's defense is better than advertised, however, your defense manufactures pressure and is GREAT at it. THAT is the one test we will have. But note that we have already played quite a few of the top defenses in the league: CIN (5), WAS (8), DAL (10), DET (12). One could say the bold also has some damn good pass rushers. Also note we played NYG and handled their pass rush. GB pass rush is different in that is relies heavy on it's LBs. Who's going to cover Vernon or Delanie Walker if those LB's blitz heavy. Our running game has proven to be effective against stacked fronts also.

I think your key guy on defense is Woodson. He will most likely keep Vernon covered but that's where most teams lose...we have 2 TE's that are faster than or as fast as WRs. With your LB's blitzing, Delanie Walker will be open all day...and no...Hawk or Clay have no chance vs Delanie. And if they do, what do you do when our FB or RB catch a pass in the area they vacated?

I haven't even mentioned our running game. If you don't put in 10, you will NOT stop our run game. Even then, you may not stop it as the NYG gave up a 20 yard rush TD with 10 in the box.

OFFENSE:
This is the part of your offense that I think is over rated. You already saw the defensive rankings of the teams you played. 7 of the 9 defenses GB has played have been in the bottom 10th rankings in points allowed. The other 2 have been in the middle and your ppg dramatically dropped vs those two. You must admit, although your offense has looked impressive, it hasn't really been tested yet.

GB dropped their average ppg by 12 ppg from 38 to 26. The 49ers RARELY blitz because we get solid pressure with our front 4. We also have a VERY opportunistic secondary that will pick it off if the ball is trying to get squeezed in too often.

GB is the best team and I believe in their defense. However, until your offense is tested, I am not a believer they will put up 30+ on anybody.

This is the matchup everyone loves to watch but don't get over confident thinking you will handedly beat SF. We rarely make mistakes, we can play all 3 downs with our base personnel on both sides of the ball and that alone will make this game a tough one for you.

The 49ers defense doesn't even remotely compare to those defenses. They are #11 overall. For as much flack the Packers defense gets its only giving up 20 PPG and are ranked #12 in that category. They've never been any worse than average in that regard the entire season. Eli Manning is better than Alex Smith. The 49ers haven't even played an elite QB this year. Green Bay's played two. Its all about the QBs.

That just shows how much you know about football

11th overall is a bunch of hogwash. Niners play bend but don't break. #1 in points and #1 in rushing tells you all you need to know.

Niners also pin opponents offenses inside their own 20, which means they have a longer field. That results in more total yardage and more pass plays.

However, when it comes to scoring points or running the ball, good luck trying to do either. Unfortunately for some teams, games are decided on the score and not who has the most yards of total offense.
Rodgers DOES have some tendencies and if there's one thing our coaching staff has been GREAT at, it has been exposes the weaknesses of teams. Rodgers LOVES sliding to his left and making the throw. Rarely does he slide to his right and make throws. I don't know if this is because he catches the RT at the corner of his eye and naturally slides over or if he's more comfortable throwing from there. I don't see him doing that vs us. J. Smith rarely gives QB's room to slide over or step up to his side (over the LG). And Aldon Smith has done a great job of breathing down the QB's back often. The right side will be more open for scramble but let us see how comfortable Rodgers is moving in that direction.
Talked to a huge GB fan, and here's his take which are used all the time (highlighted parts are what I think highly of):
1. GBs strength is passing, 49ers defensive weakness is stopping the pass.
2. GBs weakness is stopping the pass on defense, but can stop the run. 49ers can run the ball on offense but don't pass well enough to test the GB DBs.
3. GBs 2 and 3 WR are much better than 49ers 2 and 3 CBs, Brown and Culliver.
4. GBs TE can beat Willis or their safeties.
5. 49ers don't have a pass rusher to dominate their O line. Chicago's Peppers could do it but Atlanta's Abraham could not. Both are better than the 49ers pass rushers.
6. You have to score at least 28pts to beat GB, and Rodgers will throw for at least 350 yds.
7. You're going to Lambeau!

I don't buy most of what GB has done on offense. Their offense is unproven until they can do it consistently vs 2 or 3 top 10 defenses.

I'm more worried about their pass defense vs our pass offense.
