I'm in here to appreciate all the great things Bowman does for us. Willis doesn't suck. He's just gotten old and doesn't hit the holes as quickly.
C'mon man, there is an explanation. Bowman is smaller, more shifty LB that Willis, I believe this is the reason why Bowman is more successful than Willis at blitzing and from what I've noticed, Fangio sends him to stuff the line, while Willis roams the middle of the field (because he is still the very best at that). They are using these players strengths.
Takeo Spikes is not faster than Bowman, therefore Willis had more responsibilities to make up for. This year, Bowman gives us a lot more range at the TED position, allowing Willis to sit back a little more, hence the decline in tackles.
happy?
Not sold. Im officially petitioning the MODs for a name change. "53thegreat" here I come.

Bowman is 6' - 242 and Willis is 6'1" - 240 so they are basicly the same size so Bowman is not smaller, an inch shorter but 2 lbs heavier. They are twins, bookends etc. You are right about Bowman crashing the line and Willis ranaging from sideline to sideline and picking up backs out of the backfield. The coaches are playing to their strengths. Willis is better in reading and pass coverage, Bowman has the better pass rush skills and run stuffing skills (slightly). It's all good because it takes pressure off of Willis to have to do everything. Saves wear -n-tear on both of their bodies which means they will last longer.

they make a great duo.
Willis is by far the superior tackler though.

I still can't believe you guys want to trade Patrick Willis! I mean the guy has been our bread and butter on defense the last 4 years and suddenly he is trash? Lost a step? I mean 147 tackles last year, 9 sacks, 2 interceptions? Not too shabby.

Keyword: The last 4 years. Bowman is the new bread and butter of the defense. He's on pace to outdo Willis and his tiny hands.

Your little ploy isn't going to work on Syber. Now who looks like the noobs.
I know, I'm awaiting a certain punch.

this. we should trade Willis before he starts losing more value.
Really? I'm so glad youre not our GM.
Why not?? Bowman in three games has proven to be better than Willis. Bowman is our future, not Willis.
Its obvious, people need to take off their Homer glasses
He's made the probowl every year since he's been in the league. He's regarded as the best MLB by, not only NFL analysts, but NFL players and you think i'm a homer?
Patrick Willis is good as his track record indicates im just saying that he lost a step and isnt even the best LB on this team anymore. Bowman is clearly play like the old Patrick Willis. Why not explore a trade for Willis now that his value is still very high?
you @###$$%% willis his stats droped and Bowman is better cuz other teams plan for patrik not bowman !
