Why did Harbaugh take the 3 points instead of taking a 15 yard penalty?

What do you guys think?
The answer is both.

It doesn't matter why because there's no way to justify it. It's like kicking a FG on 1st down.

You didn't have the option that it was a smart call

Exactly, it makes absolutely no sense. Rookie coaching mistakes again
On madden you take the penalty, in real life most coaches keep the points
last week he took points off the board and went conservative, running 3 straight times, and was criticized for it. Now people are criticizing him for not doing that.

The situations are not even remotely comparable.

cause he has a plan

Because he doesnt have confidence in our quarterback, and he doesnt have confidence in our run blocking.

There really is no other answer. Same reason we ran out the clock at the end of the first half instead of trying to pick up 40 yards in 1:50 to set up a FG.

I understand and I am one of those, but why not take the ball? It's just like moving the ball up the field and kicking on 1st down and 10 at the 30, there is no point in kicking when you do not have to. Keep the ball in the offenses hands, instead of Romos. Why give them the ball back? Why say "here's the ball, seeing how you can't score on defense, well give it to the guys who can put points up" Defense isn't going to bring the Cowboys back offense is, and we gave it to them on a platter.

What do you mean he didn't have the option. It was a fresh first down after the penalty. He should have pull three off the board and kept driving. Believe what you will about the offense's ability to score, but they did put two TD's on the board. Had they not done well, at the worst, they would have kicked a shorter FG. No, that one I don't think he'll ever do again.
