looking forward to hearing this on 95.7 The Game... still curious as to why Gore seemed to be limited in yesterday??

10 carries when averaging 7+ yards a carry is unacceptable. everyone could about smith and other players, but 10 carries for gore shows me that the coaching and game planning for this game was really to blame.

Really!! I mean i'm all for utilizing Hunter some more, but you just have to scratch your head at the lack of Gore... he really looked like he could've torn it up had he got more plays.
Harbaugh said they will be contacting the league about the officiating

I think they're minimizing Gore's carries for the sake of keeping him fresh for the playoffs, he's been waiting so many years, and his chances of actually playing in the post-season will decrease if he continues to carry the bulk of the load.
Gore is not %100 percent and Harbaugh said he has no answer for why Gore didnt get more carries especially in the 2nd half
I heard it... and every answer he tries to formulate really sounds like it pi$$es him off. Well, i didn't want to believe it was because Gore is not 100% but we don't have much of choice but to protect him now.

except that number is completely skewed by one run. his other 9 carries were averaging 3.9 per carry. when you consider hunter's measley average, the whole run game in general was not working well except for one long run by gore.

If you take away every runningback's big runs you'll get similar averages. Fact is that if you can sustain a running game that goes at a consistent 3-5 yard clip, it helps your 3rd down and distances so much. Instead of 3 and 8-10, you're looking at 3rd and 2-4. Not to mention that when you stick with the running game, it's likely that you'll break one.

A 3.9 average on his other runs isn't bad. You realize that when a RB has 4.5 - 5 average they aren't busting out 4 - 5 yards every carry. Most of the time it is a few short ones and then a big one. That is why you have to keep feeding him the ball. He wears on teams and that opens up more running lanes.

People tried explaining that to him when he wrote it yesterday. A 3.9 average is good. Guess what happens if you average 3.9 yards on 3 consecutive carries?

except 3.9 is barely getting it done, and that's an average. repeat it with me, average. one run gets stuffed on second and 7, suddenly you're in third and long. are you going to rely on that average maintaining itself, or are you going to throw the ball. don't get me wrong, 3.9 isn't a bad average, but that's not even close to tearing it up. throwing out this 7.1 number and acting like running more was a no brain is a gross misrepresentation. are you going to throw out 3.9 the same way and claim the run game is having massive success? no.

Again, take out the big run from every running back and you'll probably get a worse average. As long as you aren't going backwards too often, getting a consistent 3-5 yards per pop is very effective in maintaining balance on offense.

good. Those f**king boneheads need to be held accountable.

Players get fined. Refs should too.

full-time refs, next season? refereeing is a trade, like any job. And, like any job, it needs ample training, and ample personnel to man the job they're asked to do.
