its the new system in which they rate qb
it counts clutchness first down runs etc. by the qb
on a scale of 0 to 100 where iits almost impossible to get 100
50 is considered average
last year the highest qbr of the total seaso was tom brady with a 76

They will ignore all the names below and concentrate on Cam Newton being above him. Throw a fit.

Interesting. It wasn't flashy, but it was a good performance by Smith. You have to be happy about the 0 turnovers, 0 sacks, and the rushing TD. But I will expecting more from week to week.

He didn't rank higher because he only had 124 yards, zero touchdowns, all the passes but 2 or 3 were checkdowns or very short yards. This statistic is much better IMO than the traditional passer rating stat. Smith had a good day overall.

I updated my post because I knew it did not have enough context. Smith played good enough for us not to lose. ST and D won us the game. You're delusional if you think otherwise.

Bring on the Alex Smith haters. So what if he didn't throw the ball downfield. I would rather have him take 2-3 yard checkdowns than throw into double coverage downfield. Alex just had a game where he had ZERO interceptions and ZERO sacks. That is an improvement.

For the guys who know less about football than me: Checkdown is a not-unimportant element of the WCO.
