There's no way I would be receptive to trading Michael, If your injured your injured there are plenty of guys who cant practice but suck it up for game days. Its becoming obvious that his foot injury is nagging and more serious than thought. Ive been watching big 12 football my whole life and followed his career closely. Crabtree was always known as a football junky. MC eats lives and breathes football, Roman said it himself, he is phenomenal in the classroom. Once his body is healthy he will show his stuff. There is no arguing that MC is a bit of an odd-ball, but he is gonna be great for us. I cant wait to watch him in the West Coast. Check his days at Texas Tech, taking short routes to the house. As far as people saying he doesnt like being a Niner, thats BS. Theres nothin like puttin on the Red n Gold and he knows it. Your telling me a 23 year kid who has the chance to step on the same field as Jerry Rice and attempt to forge his own legacy doesnt like being there? I dont buy it.

I don't think people hate him as a player, I think his personality or lack thereof may rub some easily-irritated fans the wrong way. Having followed Crabtree since his college years, I really don't care what people say about his so-called character issues. Guy has been squeaky clean, with a -- backed up by coaches and players -- tremendous work ethic.
The media finds Crabtree as an easy target highly in part due to circumstance, and Zoners who believe everything they read take this stuff too seriously.
Crabtree is an improving player entering his third year. We should expect growth once again, and I think he'll do fine. He improved upon his rookie numbers last year, and he should improve again.
2009: 48 catches for 625 yards and 2 TDs
2010: 55 catches for 741 yards and 6 TDs
2011: ?

His coaches and teammates are saying what ANY coach or teammate says about a guy on their team, unless he is a complete a-hole and a major cancer. When the last time you heard a player cite Crabtree without being asked about him? Never. Never once is Crabtree mentioned when asked the type of question "Who has really impressed you?".
As for the comment of "Zoners believe everything they read", my opinion of Crabtree has NOTHING to do with what I read, but everything to do with what I see. When he bolts first chance he gets, my opinion will be substantiated. Crabtree does not want to be a 49er. Period.

Not true! VD mentioned him, without being asked, as one the the positives for the offense this year (and they aren't exactly buddies). Also, Morgan and A Smith mentioned him. I don't see great animosity toward him from team mates. I am frustrated with his injury prone TCs, but what can you say other than it's bad luck so far. Might it be attitude? The team doctors are good enough experts for me, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

If he goes for 1000 yards and 8 TDs everyone here will love him.
Third year, time to bring it.

add to the fact he doesn't really want to be a niner.
um he's a douche and hopefully we can get something decent back in trade.
Damn Sus, speculate much? It is the same injury he has had since his senior year in college, a stress fracture in his foot, sucks, but he is not faking it. How do you know he doesn't want to be a niner? the answer is that you don't brother, just calm down, after he starts catching touchdowns, you will change your tune.

Crabtree is still one of my favorites. I still sport his jersey all the time. If he has the season he is capable of, then whoever is quaterback is going to look good.

Hated his antics at first but getting the gist his attitude has changed. Lets be honest in the old offense there was no reason to get excited as a WR. Now he is watching Braylon become the bays new golden child and seeing an offense that is determined to get the ball in the receivers hands with room to run. Braylon and VD can stretch the field giving Crabs room to run underneath. Its the first time since hes been here that he is indicating he wants to get on the field ASAP, if he is motivated he can finally be what we drafted him to be where before hand he just looked like Eeyore out there.

I don't get it either.
Peeps on this site always say "he doesn't want to be a niner", or "He's lazy and doesn't play in the pre-season", or "he's a diva".
OK, there is no evidense he doesn't want to be a Niner. Personally, I don't think he wanted to be coached by Singletary and Jimmy Raye, but who can blame him. The dude is NOT lazy. He's always in shape and STARTED his first game in the NFL after the long holdout. As for being a diva, he has never said ANYTHING diva-esque and he's never been in trouble with the law (looking at you Braylon).
Finally...the injury thing (0-3 in pre-seasons).
He broke his foot before he was even drafted and held out into the season. He likely got bad advice and held out because he could get the contract of a player taken when he THOUGHT he was drafted. I honestly blame the agent on that one.
Last year he hurt his neck in the pre-season. It happens.
This year....
OK, this is the part that pisses me off. Everyone is calling him lazy, a diva, and saying he doesn't want to be a Niner. Um, the dude injured himself at a NON-MANDATORY practice. He didn't have to be there. He was under no obligation to be there, yet he was and he worked out with the team. He got hurt. It sucks, but he did it at an event he had no obligation to even attend. Additionally, he stayed even after he was hurt to get all the information he could get. He was one of the first players to get his playbook when the lockout was lifted before the draft.
I swear the people on this site WANT to hate him. They WANT him to fail.
It truly makes me sick.
