Alex does just good enough usually to get a win if he has enough time to take a drop and go through his progressions.
All that being said I'm not sure what to predict or expect. 50% percent of me is expecting our Offensive Line to play horrible in blitz pick up and we will get devoured, the other half of course has hope that the Offensive Line and Alex are ready to call out these blitzes, pick them up, and move the chains...f**k.
Harbaugh will not want to lose to Carroll in his first game and vice versa. I have no idea what to predict.
-f**k the Seahawks and Go Niners!
I don't think SEA blitzing will phase us because this time, when we run, it won't be into the blitz. As always, our offensive line will own their D line. This time, Pete Carroll doesn't have the advantage. Harbaugh has better talent.
And I think it's also safe to say Vic Fangio can also throw the kitchen sink (with more talented defensive players) at Tavaris Jackson and his suspect line.
If they can counter the blitz...SF is going to eat that defense in small chunks with some big stuff too. This is a different offense than we have been used to, it's a WCO, and if they counter that blitz, they are going to control that defense. I think our oline is coming together fine...and Harbaugh won't sit by and let them eat us up..unlike past regimes, he will counter.
On the other side...Seacocks better hope some kind of miracle happens with that oline of theirs between here and then. Our secondary is suspect, but their oline playing so bad that they are going to be eaten alive. At this point...it's a victory for that offense if they don't get their QB killed and manage to not turn the ball over repeatedly. It looks like they are going to be playing with a small playbook, a playbook designed to keep their QB upright. Roll outs, screens etc. They will try to run..because that is what Carrol wants to do...but..good luck with that.
Hopefully the SD game was a sign that this isn't the case for us. I can't see how our O line has done that much better. Of course that's why I hope SD was a sign of good things!
If you have watched them, they make our line look awesome. Not that it is a consolation. But man, if you think WE have problems. lol

I think this was the reaction Harbaugh had after hearing about jrg.

I would hold ZERO stock in the SD game. From previous matchups with SEA, I think our OL will own them. They will continue to run-blitz, not because they think our offense is one-dimensional but because if I were them, I would first force Alex to prove he can beat the blitz. SEA will realize it is not the same old Gore-lead Bell Cow 49ers.

whether we win or lose both coaches are gonna have their offenses run up the score since both coaches dislike each other, this can be a shoot out if our secondary does not come to play but then again i'll take alex smith over tarvaris jackson and charlie whithurst any day of the week. im confidence IF and thats a big if if our oline plays to its potential that we can move the ball up and down seattle's defense all day wk 1

very much agreed, carroll should know harbaugh well enough that he isnt a neanderthal like singletary when it comes to offense. the seattle defense and coaches will realize the 9ers offense isnt anything close to the offense they faced last yr as soon as we start our 1st drive of the game next sunday

As it should have been last year when we pretty much owned the first half. Too bad a 0-0 score, in Sing's, mind was an advantage for us.

Not going to get too excited. Never know with these Niners. Still predicting a win though.
24-20 - Niners
Smith - 15/26 189 yards - 1 TD 1 INT
Gore - 113 yards - 1 TD
Dixon/Hunter/Omon (one of those guys) - 35 yards - 1 TD
It will be an efficient game. We'll move the ball and get the job done. Nothing sexy or exciting. But hey...wins a win.

Don't forget, they don't have their safety blanket that has torched us in the past. No TE Carlson (out for year). I don't know, I absolutely don't see Traveris moving that offense to more than 1 TD.
