Singletary will probably flop on this decision a couple of times in the next week. But, the question is going to be asked multiple times by the press.

What they need to do is start a new Head Coach next week. One that plays to win rather than to lose. Who cares at this point who starts next week. We are officially in the running for the worst record in the NFL and the #1 draft pick. Sing needs to be given his walking papers ASAP!
3 wins > 1 win (Carolina)
Can't make things any worse. Starting a new coach is the only thing we haven't tried........... So long Sing........

Ok. You guys convinced me. Not only should he start, we should extend his contract for the next five to seven years. I'm thinking somewhere between Manning and Brady money. However, we might have to cut Willis and Davis to make room for his contract.

Until the 49ers address the coaching, and offensive line issues, who takes the snaps will not make a difference.
That being said, Alex's time in S.F is over. I think that much is clear. So why put him back in there?
I agree. I would be wanting to try and get something for him this off season. Therefore, why risk damaging the goods any further?
If I`m not mistaken, Alex is an unrestricted free agent. So we will not get anything for him.

If that is true, then the main reason I would sit him is because I wanted to close the door once and for all on the AS era. I would play Carr if I had to before him...not let him back on the field...be done with it.

It's true. He won't be back next season.

Anybody who's clamoring for Alex Smith is about as dumb as the Head Coach.
They should put Alex Smith back in. He could be the first QB to BUST three times in his career. He's already busted twice.
At least with Alex in, the season would finally be over, and I could laugh at him and his supporters for the rest of year.

Troy smith should start vs. the Cardinals. Alex Smith had six years to get it done. Lets give T. Smith at least one more game. Next year will be different. I just don't know if the current management is going give up some power so we can bring in an experienced coach tht get bring in some players to get us to the playoffs.

I honestly think Asked would have played even worse if that's even possible. Our line was not giving any time to pass at all. Alex probably would have gotten sacked like ten times and thrown 3 int's.
Ehhhh no. Alex has scored a TD on the opening drive of three out of the last 4 games. We didn't even get into the redzone today.
And then the God AS went on to guide us through the rest of the 55 minutes of play, culminating in win after win, playoff appearance after playoff appearance, year after year after 6th year.
The total body of evidence does not support AS.
