What Singletary said to Smith!

I saw him say "...job on the line." and I'm pretty sure he said, " It's my job on the line." Problem is, Alex performed after that and we still lost. What to do is a tough call.

That's not true. I read lips too. Sing said We're behind 24 to 10 and I gotta... camera panned to something else.
So we don't know the FULL story.
I have a feeling Sing was gonna throw the hook on Smith but Smith got pissed and started yelling at Sing(this we DID see) and told him that he could still play.
Now this I believe. The boobirds were out in full force like Smith crapped on somebodies kid at the 50 and the game was his fault when it wasn't. I think Smith finally stuck up for himself. He was pissed and I don't blame him. It was a stupid mistake that gave up 7 but to that point look at how solid he was playing the game.
Frank put the ball down twice and everyone boos Alex. That;s f@ckin stupid imho.
If our Defense could stop a gang of school kids from scoring on their baby sister Alex would not be in the position of having to comeback from even a 7 point deficit. But that sh!t is lost on the "Faithful".
He gave up 7. The Defense gave up 14. Why are we pissed at Smith today? Oh I forgot when you're drafted 1st overall you have to be Montana and Young all rolled into one and have to keep the Opposing Offense from scoring too.

Thank God, a voice of reason. Alex was not perfect, but he was scary good when he had to be.
Look at the scoring charts.
Defense - Gave up 14 (or was it 17?).
Gore - Gave up 10 off his turnovers.
Alex - Gave up 7 on a bad fumble.
Nedney - Gave up 3 on a missed "gimme" kick.
We left twenty points on the board combined with turnovers. Alex had his mistake, but was less than half of the points we lost.

Too bad, Sing didn't yell at the defense too, to not give up more points.
The D played good. We absolutely needed to scoop up that fumble by McCoy. That was critical. But in reality, Gore lost the game for us in a big way. But because of Smith being the QB, nobody will talk about Gore coughing two fumbles up and playing a s*itty game for the most part.
Gore is overrated. Like Smith, he is too inconsistent, and he turns the ball over too much. I think we need to get other back into the mix. I'd like to see more of Dixon.

Good play by the DB, bad form on Ginn and Smith looks bad on a play that every QB would look like a hero by one of the aforementioned Receivers.
We have Vernon and Crabtree for the outroutes and Ziggy can take the intermediate and Morgan and Gore can take Dumpoff and shallow routes. Ginn doesn't need to be on that field at that time. Solid returner. Sh!tty option at Receiver.

Wow seriously? He had a bad game but you can't even name 5 guys that had more yds than him coming into this game. I would like to see a spread where we don't just rely on Gore.

Hooray for dixon. HE NEEDS TO GET MORE PLAYING TIME period. If we lose next week I say bench Frank and Alex and start Smith (Troy) and dixon to see what you have in the uture for the next head coach.

Gore has something like five fumbles on the year. That's unacceptable. He's not the only problem we have but he's not been getting it done anymore so than any of our other guys so far.

Hey, I'm retired and I watch a lot of football. I rarely see QBs do well when under as much pressure as Alex is from his OL, penalties, dropped passes, and receivers not turning their heads when they should. No QB is perfect, and Alex isn't either. But he is a damn good QB and we are fortunate to have him. But he needs to have his OC and offensive teammates help him. I really doubt Rodgers would do as well under these circumstances.

Seriously. Part of our problem is that we've been trying to put together a grinding, power offense around Gore the last few years, but Gore isn't reliable enough to build a team around. Neither is Alex. But people who say Gore is so great, I don't fully agree. He gets shut down a lot. He is streaky. And he fumbles a lot.

Yes he was. I didn't say Alex did nothing wrong. I said he was not at fault for the Loss. As has been the case for MOST of this season.
You gotta keep your QB in a position to win the ball game if you want to Win. This is the NFL the Opposing team doesn't just run out on the field and give it the old half assed college try. Our Defense couldn't even stop a screen when they KNEW it was going to happen. Why are all our Linebackers running into the backfield on a team they KNOW will use the screen like a Run?
One of our Safeties has to identify the Back and Move to him when he sees there is no ball in his hands and the Line allows the Front to penetrate. That's what you do on a Screen. Half the Line "folds like a cheap suit" and the QB tosses it over their heads. Only we don't have anyone back there to interrupt the play. Manusky is a solid Coordinator but he either doesn't preach this issue to his Players or they don't listen to him.
SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE ABOUT THE FRIGGING SCREEN!!!

Does Singletary consider 49ers QB change? "It's possible," he said.

Singletary said he wanted to see how Alex Smith react to in-game benching. He stood up to singletary, and that's what coach wanted to see.

Alex Smith is taking a long time before meeting media.

Alex Smith has never taken this long after a game. If I were to take a guess, I'd say he's probably having a chat with 49ers head coach.

I agree, to many dropped passes and players not turning when they break from the line. It's not all on Alex cause he showed alot tonight. He looked like a damn good QB on those last three drives.

Does Alex Smith expect to remain as the 49ers' starting quarterback? Yes," he said, "until they tell me I'm not."
