Public reactions to Jed York.

I thought Jed put it nicely that he put his integrity higher than a story line. He handled the situation nicely he explained all that needed to be explained. He is still interested in protecting Scotts privay, the draft will go on, and he - Jed - is still in charge.

It doesn't mean we can't criticize their sorry a**es. They have been a joke for a decade. We are the Detroit Lions West. They get rid of their GM weeks before the draft with 2 first round picks. It's absurd. Unprecidented in modern times.

They could have gotten rid of him at the end of the season and they would have had a shot at the likes of Holmgren or even Shannahan if you could talk him into a GM role for the right amount of money. Their timing is ill conceived and their decisions are putrid.

Given that they got rid of him 5 weeks before the draft it is fairly obvious that something happened in the past month or so. To say that the move is absurd might have credibility if you knew why the move was made.

Since you have absolutely no idea why the move was made all you are doing is pissing and moaning like a woman on a heavy flow day with a purse full of light flow tampons.

He could have come out and told you that Scot cheated on his wife with an intern at the facility and you would have somehow found a way to still be displeased with him. Something along the lines of "Classic York's promoting someone with a perfect track record w/o knowing he'd bang an intern. Way to go Jed. You fail, sell the team". Or "Classic, Jed. Classless, things like this should be kept confidential. Total lack of Class. Real owners never spill the beans".

He gave a vote of confidence to Alex, told us Sing will be just a coach, and those are important things we needed to know. Baalke is clearly a more than satisfactory candidate to do the job he's been asked to do.

He's completely overmatched and unqualified to do what he is doing. He's just a rich kid. And he's stupid like his father.

A. All nfl owners are somebody's rich kid. Duh.

B. Overmatched and unqualified in comparison to who? Jed's employing a fantastic product on the field, a good...can be great coach, employed one of the most respected talent finders around in Scot, employing the best cap guy around, and has put in place two very capable GM types in Gamble and Baalke.

Given that they got rid of him 5 weeks before the draft it is fairly obvious that something happened in the past month or so. To say that the move is absurd might have credibility if you knew why the move was made.

I actually think Jed handled this in a very mature way and a very respectful way and Scot obviously had stuff going on that he didn't want made public. WTF else was Jed supposed to do? For something that seemed like an out of the blue problem, or something that finally reached a boiling point, he got a decent plan together. This might be a good thing too btw, it's not like Scot got us to the playoffs yet.

if i recall correctly, Eddie D inherited the team from his dad too. And John York is a forensic pathologist, i doubt he's stupid. Lacking business savvy, yes; stupid, no.

I guess I have higher hopes and expectations than a lot of people. A lot of the posters have real low expectations. Like yeah whatever Jed wants to do is the opinion I see.
