Any QB would struggle behind Heitmann. Including Carr.

Alex has taken snaps behind Center w/o incident in the past. So I don't see the issue that people keep pointing to. He had issues his first couple of seasons, but I think that goes to the inexperience of taking a direct snap.

It's pointless to even bring it up anymore imho.

I'm just saying, whether we like it or not there could be a foreshadowed QB competition in the works (yet again).

So you don't have any evidence to back it up. Just based off of opinion and conjecture like I thought. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that David Carr wants to start, but how can you say that he wants it more than Alex Smith?

Well, what has Alex shown through conjecture thus far than a couple of mumbled words and zero showing of confidence? -I'm sorry, but that heartfelt 'Hollywood' go-getter crap doesn't buy me, his throwing mechanics are still crap and whenever he throws an interception he still forces his head down in shame.

Besides a heart-felt shoulder story, this guy looks like a wet duck when it comes to exuding any sort of attitude/showing of confidence a winner would. No swagger, no direction, no sense of place or hunger. And I know this because the Alex Smith we see now is the same Alex Smith that came out of Utah (same mislead Urban Meyer disaster put through a non-NFL system with the promise that everything he learned in college will make him an NFL superstar).

It's survival of the fittest, sport, leave the meek and weak at the door.

And you can tell that David Carr has all this that Alex doesn't have based off of a few posts on twitter. Right.....

David Carr has proven time and time again that he is a scrub. The jury is still out on Smith. Smith put up better numbers last year than David Carr has ever put up.

The thing is, I don't think Alex Smith is any better than David Carr. They are both mediocre QBs, but Carr has better mechanics. All the excuses made for Alex can be made for Carr minus the shoulder injury. Carr wasn't exactly in a good position in Houston and really was never given a shot at success. I always thought he could be a good QB given the proper situation, but unless the O-Line gets it together, we dont have the proper situation for him.

I'd like to see Alex start the season so we can finally see if he makes any progress under the same OC for a second season. If he fails, there are NO MORE EXCUSES and he'll need to be benched, then released.

I have no problem rolling with Carr. We don't have anyone undoubtedly better.

Not really. If you read my post, I clearly said that I would expect Sing/McCloughlan to seek a bonified quarterback next offseason if Alex Smith fails. In other words, even if Carr takes over and has success, I wouldnt buy it as if he's the next heir apparent. I wont attack him directly cause I havent seen him play our our team with our offense. Who knows ? Maybe he can make good receivers look........well.......good. As opposed to Alex Smith, who pretty much turned semi-good players into garbage (Antonio Bryant, D.Jackson, A.Lelie).
