goldson has played very well imo, already has an INT this year and playing head and shoulders better than roman was last year, alot more physical too and tackles well.

Brown may have won the starting spot if he hadn't gotten injured. They see him as someone worth keeping that could develop into a starter, that's all that matters right now. Its good that we resign guys while they're cheap and before they have a chance to hit the market. I think it's smart if you ask me. And I doubt he will receive a huge contract so relax.

Well he hasn't proven it to you but he has to the staff if they want to keep him, that's all I'm saying. So what can you do I think we extended Robinson as well last year and I didn't like it.

I didn't like it to much either. But I think you get my point about players getting extended that don't deserve it.

Just remember that even if we resign someone for a 5 yr contract, we don't have to keep them. This is the NFL, not Basketball which means the contracts aren't gauranteed...it seems like if they get their FAT $, they have to committ but we don't have to committ to them! SIGN THEM NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

I read Matt’s article and with an uncapped year next year I am sure that is when Willis, V. Davis, and several others will want to negotiate new contracts.

Give credit to the Niners for tearing up contracts and negotiating new deals with players they want to keep long term. To bad Crabtree does not understand/know about this policy. If he were to perform as advertised the Niners would tear up his contract after year 2 and give him the deal he wants.

With Jed now on board I fully expect Willis to be made the highest paid LB in football. IF VD continues to perform he will get a very nice contract as well probably top 5 TE money. Getting Brown signed is important if not for the injury strong chance he would have been starting or #3 CB.
