I guess we'll all find out Week 1 versus the Cardinals if our pass rush has improved.
You can't seriously think they would show anything in preseason?

Does anybody believe that our pass rush is any better?

As I'm getting to watch the first hour and a half of the pre season game vs Broncos, I've noticed two things...
Haralson looks thicker around his legs and hips. His POA looks nicer than last year but running down that dump to Stokely he slugged downfield.
Franklin gives up. On that dump...he rushed then dropped back??? WTF is that? I know that wasn't suppose to be his assignment cause Soap and The Motor rushed upfield.
Spikes looks so flipping good what a signing...

Please tell me we have a smart enough fan base not to give up on our pass rush based on last night.
Forget scheme lets at least see our starters play more then one series and our starting OLBs rush the passer more then a handful of times.
You make a good point. The Bronco's did not use any 7-step drops that I can remember. The play calling essentially neutralized our pass rush.
We will see a major difference once the defense starts gaming planning for opponents. The defense has enough talent to take away the short passing game and force the offense into situations more conducive to sacks.

Well... so far i would say no, but even though we went up against one of the better units in the league; you would still like to see some pressure and i just don't see it.
I'll give it one more pre-season game before i just give up and hope our DB's stop playing so far off the ball... sick of that "bend but don't break" scheme, i think they are better than that.

Of course it's not any better. What did the team do to improve it? NOTHING. All the team did was swap TBC and Green for Harris and Brooks. That MIGHT be an upgrade, but it's not going to impact the pass rush that much. We needed to add another OLB that can get after the QB to compliment Haralson. Lawson isn't the pass rusher people want him to be, never has been.
Look at some of the good 3-4 Ds in the league. They have good pass rushers at both OLB spots. Steelers have Harrison and Woodley, Chargers have Phillips and Merriman, Cowboys HAD Ware and Ellis, Ravens have Suggs and Johnson, Dolphins have Porter and Roth. Some of you might not think highly of Johnson and Roth, but they are better pass rushers than Lawson.
We NEED to find another OLB

Roth is a good hard nosed player that never quits.

I know that J. Moore came in during the scrub time, but he seemed to show a lot of good energy you like to see in an outside linebacker... maybe he can help in some situations. Assuming he can stay healthy. I don't know what it was but the little i watched of him, he really seemed hungry out there, guess because he's been injured for the past two years.
Anyways-- Eric Wright pointed out how Singletary is high on this guy... just a thought.

As of now, I don't see it better. maybe better wrinkles in the D for the reghular season. Overall defense looked pretty shotty in being marched on so much. Sure the int's were nice but what if we hadn't got them. We need to force some 3 and out's and not have to rely on turnovers.

It will probably be a tad better than before. But I doubt we will see enough improvement to alleviate concerns in this aspect of the team. Same guys as before are playing the front line. We know none of them are superstar pass rushers.

Our pass rush will get better. I don't care if it sucks in preseason, the regular season is a totally different ballgame

I think once the regular season starts & Willis is in the middle of the field our defense will perform better.

Against a stout O-line like Dallas , Our 1st team D-line looked ineffective.....again.
