So, I believe Einstein would consider McCloguhan and Singletary to be insane.

However much they may spin this, and believe me I am a fan of the Singletary stewardship of our team, the mere fact of one sack in 3 games is not worthy of a team with ambitions of post season competition.
I felt Manusky was given leniency when Nolan was terminated. He must do better.

Any better than what?
One guy (Haralson) on the whole team who every now and then can pressure an/or sack the Q.B.
We have one freak'en player who shows any type of pass rush skill in Haralson.
Playoff caliber defenses have legit consistant Pass Rushers.... the 9ers clearly don't fit in that catagory so they have to depend on luck, and luck will only take you so far.
Charles Haley... last great 9ers Pass Rush Beast and superbowls followed him whichever team he played on.

I think the pass rushing coach should actually run out in the middle of a play and sack the quarterback himself.
And if he doesn't do so, fire him.

We haven't had any sacks, the one on Russell doesn't count, but we have had pressure that's resulted in interceptions. I'll take picks over sacks any day.
Although it seemed like the opposing QB's have had all day to throw, our defense hasn't blitz much in the preseason. I look forward to the sack totals rising as we enter the regular season. I guess it would have to because it couldn't get any lower.

But But But... The sack is the same things as a homerun for baseball but only for the defense. you clearly don't have a clue what you are talking about
I agree with you, I would rather have pressure that results in INT's than a measly sack

Except... we have said the same thing for the past decade or so, that being "once the regular season starts, our Sacks we come".
If you don't have personal who have the talent to Pass Rush, get there and actully knock the crap out of the Q.B. pre-season or regular season , it ain't going to happen.
3 pre-season game with ZERO sacks my friends is not a good sign.

But we have gotten some pressure on the QB that resulted in poor throws to the defense AKA an INT.
