I am impressed with this kid. He has met his demons face-to-face, accepted them for what they are, and is succeeding early in his sobriety. Heck, I am sure that he's battling those demons every time he hears of a party which is hard for any 22 year old let alone an alcoholic. Really? Ive been a supporter of Davis, but I thought he looked horrible tonight. He lets him man get right up in his chest, doesn't extend his arms and always looks like he doesn't really know where to go or who to block. He needs a lot of work.

I wouldn't say terrible. I think he is behind the curve since he hasn't been witht the team. I think it would be better to say that Snyder looked good. I bet Goodwin starts next week. We'll get a better look then.

This. That one play was horrible but overall he played well.

Snyder looked pretty good at Center last night. Chilo was a stud at RG against a very tough Raider defensive front (can't believe I'm saying that

). But all-in-all I am VERY pleased with the O-Line's showing last night.

The line blocking was outstanding on run plays. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Yes, we looked good. But it was still a preseason game. And it was also a preseason game against the Raiders, who aren't very good.

Still -- I did see incremental progress last night. Davis had a false start penalty against him early in the game and that was about the only problem Alice had time to sit back and pick out targets. It was nice to see Alice checkdown to 1st, 2nd and 3rd receiving options. He did this on more than one occasion. And the line was just blowing open holes for our running backs.

Nice to see the progress. But it's still preseason. We've got a long way to go. I still think this is a two or four win team at best.

joe staley and iupati were solid snyder looed good chilo looked good and other than one play (and a false start davis looked good as well

i think with a bit more practice o line may acually be a good pass protecting unit this year
