Brandon Jones is gonna be a beast. Ya'll wait and see. He was totally underrated in Tennessee. He's by far the biggest deep threat on our team and also a great blocker.
Battle is a goner and so is Z.

Your assuming that only 5 WR's make the roster. The niners have kept 6 on the roster for the past 3-4 seasons.

He should be converted to a TE. Hes a PR Specialist, a former QB and a hes Fhysical with an F. Too valuable.[/indent]

his best chance is his special teams play. So he might have a shot yet.

No because Kory Sheets will make the team. So if one RB goes down then we still have a tandem.

We only kept 6 WR's last year (in Mike Martz pass happy offense)

Battle has no chance of making the squad, he had one catch after Sing became coach, Jason Hill and Zeigler got all the playing time he would have been seeing. Hill and Zeigler played more on special teams. I don't think the Niners believe that Battle has as much value as these two. So if they decide to keep 6 receivers then the last job goes to Zeigler over battle. Plus I don't think it hurts that Zeigler went to Baylor.
Oh and since we are talking about cuts, Simms, K Harris, whats the difference?? Get Simms out of here

It seems that almost everyone is counting Jones out and just sorta shuffling him into the depth chart, but I too have high hopes for him as well as the other guys.
I don't know about him being "by far the biggest deep threat on our team" though. His 4.42 40 time doesn't hold up to Jason Hill's 4.32. I know that track speed doesn't necessarily translate to game speed, but with that consideration, he still has to best Morgan and Crabtree.

FINALLY!
We actually have enough depth that I don't see 20 posts flaming the suggestion! I was getting so tired of everyone talking about how Battle was our best, most consistent reciever. Some acted like we would be lost without him. Wether it was true or not, I'm so glad it is over.
Battle is a great, selfless guy, but we need to let him go.
