He really could be. The Colts will almost certainly cut him. He has a $28 million signing bonus due. He has an injured neck. And they have Andrew Luck.
He is going to want 20 million for whatever team, we have 40 in cap room, and Goldson, Rodgers, Morgan, Ginn, Brooks to re-sign and our ST guys like Constanzo and Grant, plus draft picks. I don't think we can afford to keep our team together, upgrade the WRs, etc if we were to sign him. And then he could be paralyzed after one bad hit. Not worth the risk IMO.
Exactly how I feel. I think this team has a great future, and would hate to see it gutted to secure a great player who may well be completely finished.

Yep. And how do we know Manning won't completely flop in a brand new offense? He has had the same system his entire career.
And how do we know he'll be athletically fit enough to throw like he did 5 years ago?
And how do we know that he won't hang it up when symptoms reappear after his first big hit?
Not worth it.

only if he's willing to big a pay cut....... too many key FA's for us.
SF is probably the best option for him if he wants to win now, EASILY the best defense he'd be playing with.

I think when healthy, there is no QB better than Peyton. But i think his playing days are done, one hit and it could be all over for him. I just wouldnt want to risk it

Colts have all but said they are ready to move on, tells you all there is to know about the concern of his injury. I love Peyton, but picturing him behind our O-line scares me

I'd take Peyton in a heartbeat. If he is let go, I doubt he wants money in the 20M range. I think he's looking to win as many SB's as possible this late in his career and SF is the best option with our defense, run game and VD.

Football aside, this is a terrible injury. The Man has no guarantee that his nerves will ever regenerate in his tricep muscles.
Why he does not retire is beyond me.

only if we get him as a free agent and under a conditional contract that serves to him staying healthy would i want to have him on our team
if it does happen and we keep our defense together while adding draftees....SUPERBOWL BABY!!!

Nothing against Peyton but we can't afford to let Alex go under any scenario.
It wasn't long ago that Eli was on Alex Smith's level. Whose to say that 3,200 yards won't be 4,800 yards 4 years now?

Peyton won't be a Colt next year, if he plays he will be a Cardinal

Who would he throw the ball to?
The point is moot, because he's not coming here anyway. It's a pretty safe bet imo.

I have NO clue where this is going.
Peyton will either be back to his great self , retire, or decline in his ability to play at a high level by leaps and bounds.
