Is Matt Hasselbeck still an NFL quality QB?

He is wildly inconsistent. It is hard to even describe him as mediocre. For the TWO games a year he plays well, he has at least three games like he had today against the 49ers. He had a Superbowl appearance YEARS ago. But how is that relevant today? How does a Superbowl appearance make him a quality QB today?

Saying he is better than other QBs in the NFC West doesn't really make him an NFL quality guy.

Aside from the Cardinals and Panthers...does he represent and upgrade for anybody? Sorry, I wouldn't take him over what we got...as horrible as that sounds. He just doesn't have it anymore. The Jake Delhomme of the year.
Many people in here have put signing him this off season in our plans. He has more ints than TDs in his last 2 years. Now his weapons are very weak but still thats bad.

I wouldnt go anywhere near him if he was a free agent unless he came cheap.
Never was. He's as big a fraud as McNabb.

He's been going through injuries. Add that to injuries at the WR position, a mediocre O-line, and a poor rushing attack...and you won't look good either.

Hmmm sounds familiar
It is looking more and more like he is not. His contract is up at the end of this year. His peaks and valleys as far as his playing is concerned are troubling. To me as well as to many other Hawks fans I know it is becoming obvious that Seattle should look into moving past Matt Hasselbeck after this season. He gave us what is probably our best run in team history, but all careers come to an end. The end to Matt's career is very close.
what a difference a holmgren makes.....

Matt is years removed of a quality season. 2007 was the last time he was good. Age catches up.

yes it does. but not often so drastically. coach and age played a role in this.

Maybe so. Matt has been pretty terrible at times this year. You had the pleasure of witnessing that first hand today.
