He was used more in the box at USC, with us he needs to fine tune his coverage skills, until that improves he will be a special teamer and see spot duty as an extra defensive back in Dime packages

well this thread clearly has a lot to say about taylor mays..........anyway hes got some work to do, but there are flashes of great play, at times reminds me of an adrian wilson type player, obviously not there yet

It seems to me that Taylor Mays is often invisible on the field. That probably means that he is often out of position. Hopefully he will get more football smarts, and know where he needs to be, and then use his talent to get there quickly.
On the plus side, I haven't seen a case where he blew a coverage and a guy ran by him for a TD (like Reggie Smith did).

I believe the coaches are taking it slow and not showing all of his skill set because he will be a major factor in the season. What a breath of fresh air with the attitude. He's has so much he wants to prove that you have to root for the kid.
