YOU are on the clock... [2012 collaborative mock draft]

The St. Louis Rams announce a trade with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns give St. Louis their 2 first rounders in 2012 and a 3rd round pick in 2013 (2830 points) in exchange for the #2 overall pick in 2012 (worth 2600 points). The Rams now have the 4th and 22nd pick in the 2012 draft.

With the 2nd pick in the 2012 draft, the Cleveland Browns select QB Robert Griffin III, Baylor. The Vikings are now on the clock.

The Minnesota Vikings with the 3rd pick in the first round select......... OT MATT KALIL.

The need to protect their young franchise QB outweighs the desire to move down or get some weapons at the wideout spot.

Trades are going to be kind of hard to do in this type of mock draft. We're probably going to need some kind of approval system for future trades. But since GoFD is a respected Draft War Room vet, that trade goes thru
The St. Louis Rams select WR Justin Blackmon, Oklahoma State

With the 5th pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select CB Morris Claiborne, LSU

Secondary is getting old and depth is thin, draft best CB so Schiano has one less thing to worry about so he can focus on offense

The Washington Redskins select Trent Richardson, RB Alabama. BPA that will finally end the revolving door at the RB Position.
The Jacksonville Jaguars select Quinton Coples, DE North Carolina.

The Miami Dolphins select OT Riley Reiff Iowa

Just gotta say that they drafted Roy Helu and Evan Royster last year and Shanny likes both of these young backs. Just not sure they would spend the #6 pick on another young RB, especially with a few good OTs available (Reiff and Martin). Worse case, they upgrade their 3-4 DE position by going after Devon Still or Michael Brockers, but I really don't see Richardson becoming a Redskin. Just my 2 pennies worth.

I agree. Highly unlikely they would select Richardson.

I think that if the draft were to fall as it has so far, then the Buc would take Morris Claiborne. Rhonde Barber is old and may not have anther year left, while Talib can't stay out of trouble. A great young talent like Claiborne would go a long way to alleviate one of those problems.

Kind of funny, but I was just looking at AB's collaborative Mock, and it had the same pick of Claiborne to the Bucs, with almost the same statement. This was totally unintended on my part. I guess m brockalexander and I just see this situation in the same light.

The Carolina Panthers need more talent in the middle of their defense, so they select Penn St. DT Devon Still.

The Bills select OLB Courtney Upshaw from Alabama, to help improve their nonexistent pass rush.
