Coby Fleener - TE Stanford

IMO the Colts would be REAL smart to draft Fleener, besides they have no TE with Clark gone. Their O-line isn't bad either giving up only 35 sacks, so no rush there. Randle, Quick, Sanu Jeffery are all there for the taking too.

I think they find out that their OL is garbage this year. It's not hard to prevent sacks when the QB gets the ball out in 1.5 seconds. Add to that that they lost their C and they will have a rookie QB handling protection calls. That said, I think they will draft Fleener, If they stay consistent with their offensive approach, or that of Arians, the new OC

I still want the guy or a TE like him. Delanie just doesn't cut it in my eyes. He doesn't pose much of a threat and if he is solely going to be the blocking TE can't we get a mauler of a TE in there over him.

Again, like I said, the webzone loved guys like Hill, Randle, Janoris Jenkins, Konz, and Cordy Glenn and Fleener. All those guys were mocked in the 1st round. Some were bound to fall but if you made a mock with them slipping past 30, everyone would always say "No way they make it past us" or "we would run up to the podium with our pick."

Whether we get him or not, a team is going to be lucky to have him as a wr threat.

go back and look at the lions game and see walker's wham blocks freeing gore for two 40 yd + runs....walker also gives niners alot of options in alignment s and sets...walker is a definete asset in niners offense

Wham blocks are about surprise and positioning, not blocking prowess
If we are going to draft a TE, he better be a blocking specialist. We already have two really good recieving TE's unless I am missing something...

Fleener is to big to move to WR, so what would be the point of pissing off VD by trying to give half of his catches to another TE?
*** Does anyone else have the feeling that Coby Fleener is going to continue to fall? 50/50 chance he's there at #61

You are missing something, Walker is a lousy receiving tight-end because he can't separation from anyone but the most lead-footed linebackers. 49ers already HAVE a blocking tight-end in Byham, a big target like Green or Egnew could be very useful.

As far as Fleener, him and Luck are about to be reunited in Indy. It makes TOO much sense for the Colts to draft him for it to not happen.

Nope.....he's gone within the first few picks of the 2nd round and I really don't see him making it past Indy. They're going to need to add weapons for Luck and they can't find a better weapon than a guy he already has tremendous chemistry and experience with.

There was no way Niners were going to draft a TE in the first round. It would have not made any sense. The fact that teams that desperately needed a TE passed on him - tells a lot more about him than us passing on him.
