I am a fan. If Peterson isn't our pick at 7, I am hoping its Quinn.

After Dareus, this is the guy I want. Then, Miller or Peterson.

I am a fan of Robert Quinn. I think that he will become a special player in couple of years. BUT, I think that it will be with a 4-3 team. I don't think that he can be special standing up. When you see him run around, he looks way too thick... just my opinion.

Maybe that's because the better teams were too smart to leave him 1 on 1. How about TFLs?

Wait! You think he can't stand up! lol well good news in the 3-4 we are going to run, he's rushing. Point is even with peterson as proof of what i'm about to say. If he's great he can play almost any spot on the football field maybe outside of qb! Both C and R Woodson. Trust me in we are smart we keep lawson to cover and this kid becomes the passrusher mostlikely the elephant and next fing haley please give me that back!

Again I say...
I'm not worried about Quinn being able the drop back as a 3-4 OLB. GM Trent Baalke said that his primary concern is finding a guy who can get after the QB. Quinn offers that ability. I like the DeMarcus Ware comparison that I've been hearing. Ware couldn't drop back very well at first either! In my opinion, if Quinn is there at #7 (and I think he could be) you turn in that card quickly and make the pick. I think he's an instant impact player.

cant agree more about quinn. You can teach a linebacker to cover. you can not teach that much athleticism and natural pass rushing instincts. He gets off the snap so quick and is so powerful with so much flexibility i dont see why people see him as a 4-3 end. Only dareus, peterson, and MAYBE miller warant consideration over quinn in my eyes.

i am probally the only person who thinks this and i wont blame anyone for thinking im cray but this is just how i feel
imo i think quinn is a little better than miller only because mller has to use speed moves and he lacks the power to use power moves to get past the o linemen which means he will be nuetralized if double teamed and against the quicker more athlethic OT also his lack of size and strength may cause him to be a non factor in coverage and the run

i think miller is better at coverage since he played in a 3-4 already in a&m but with miller what you see is what you get and with quinn i believe he has more upside with his size, strength and speed if he works hard and puts it all together

the thing that cincerns me is that he wont be able to guard
tes i think he can stop rbs and also fb no problem he has the speeed to coverage them but sometimes against TE i just think he may get overpowered

In my opinion, I have Robert Quinn rated higher than Von Miller. "Why is that?" You ask. I think Von Miller is too aggressive at times. He has a tendency to over-pursue and run himself out of the play completely. Plus, I think he'll have a problem at the NFL level due to his size. I don't think Von Miller can rely on speed alone and as a result, can get swallowed up.

What I saw from combine and workout was that Quinn did NOT look quick enough to play 3-4 OLB. Not sure if it was the year off or what but he did not look like he had that burst.

I have to disagree here. Regarding Robert Quinn, most people believe he's a 4-3 DE, but that his pass rush ability is so good that he can make the transition to 3-4 OLB as well. The only issue I've heard is about him possibly having trouble dropping into coverage. However, his primary role in the beginning will be as a pass rusher. I don't think it will be much of a problem at all.
Besides, If my memory serves me correctly, DC Vic Fangio said his defense will have multiple blitz schemes that look like a 3-4 at times and then look like a 4-3 in other situations. I think Robert Quinn would fit right in!

That's funny, his 10 yard speed was 1.60 seconds where as Von Millers at 20 lbs lighter was 1.56.
Plus Quinn improved on all his numbers during the UNC workout.
So I'm not quite sure where you're coming from.

Pro Day numbers can be tricky. He very could of been the same guy and just ended up with better results due to the conditions.
